Gutted with Ted Durcan switching Striking Spirit inexexplicably when race at mercy. Cost me a possible winner at rates between 25/1 and 30/1. If anyone cares to watch this back and offer a view I would be grateful. Cheers. Well done to those players showing a profit today!

Just watched it back Ardent and the word you use inexpilcably is i feel correct as there was no reason for it and had he kept it going forward he would have kept momentum and also had the winner who was coming through to race against.

This said there is a slight possibility that the horse took himself inside as he himself saw his ground being taken by the other horse in front, i raise this slight possibility only because the manouvre would have been so inexplicable if intentional as the obvious thing to do was drive the horse forward outside the horse coming across and maintain the racing line as much as the other horse allowed. If trying assess the result as objectively i would say that you should have come 2nd as i still think the winner had more momentum and would have gone passed you. What is most annoying is it would have been good to at least find out.

I have got used to it and after many years now accept that it is the nature of horse racing. I have had a Jockey leave me wondering what could have been on a couple of occasions for proper life changing sums due to enjoying the odd yankee and also benefitted from decent wins because a jockey rode a great race or another jockey messed his race up and left me with a winner i should not have had. It is so annoying at the time but its just the nature of the sport and of having a bet. Chin up Ardent next week it will go in your favour, you'll see<cheers>

I thought I did at first then realised. Although it was a big dividend, I'm happy that I have one up. <ok>

Thanks for your assessment bluesky appreciated. I was so excited when I dug him up last night and so confident of a big run. At least I know that my take on his chances of winning wasn't far away....thanks again.
