Sprinter just blew them all away, in spite of being a bit gee-ed up with the parade ring noise beforehand. Great racehorse, and a superb training performance to get him back to peak fitness after a very serious illness.
Sprinter reeling in the years still. Wins easily. Un De Sceaux decided to also have a go at the long jump halfway around there, he got away with some very dubious jumps and is lucky to have came home on all 4's.
Just noticed that Convey is running at Leicester. Have stuck a bit on him because I expected him to be Group class over 8-10f last year but it didn't quite work out after some setbacks. He's back nice and early this year and I hope he can progress.
Just come on to the daily thread today. Didn't realise Squire was running. Good luck stick and Don. Great win for Menorah; really toughed it out Brilliant Sprinter. What a horse, and what a beautiful specimen. Full credit to NH for bringing him back gently; fantastic training feat Great ride from SWC on TYM That's me up to date.
Well done Nicholls in retaining his title. Ten years at the top doesnt come easy. Mullins deserves credit too, never scared to travel his best ones. Not everyone does. I'm sure he'll have a go next year and wouldn't be at all surprised to see more runners over early season next year. And Sprinter Sacre, wow, just wow. Always had Moscow Flyer down as my all time fav 2miler, as he showed longevity, which up until this year Sprinter hadn't. He has now, and versatilty winning on any ground he's just awesome. Un de Sceaux doesn't quite handle decent ground, and jumped woefully throughout but he's stuck on well and i can tell you if you see him in the flesh if he was a boxer he wouldn't be in tbe same ring as Sprinter or any other chaser as he's a small wee thing. But he's got a big heart. All about the winner today. Sensational and I now have jt fav 2milers! Brilliant for Dickie to ride a winner. Cooper really just missing the extra percentage in a tight finish too often. Can't remember who it was on here used to critise Davy Russell but pretty sure who I'd prefer on mine.
People moaning about Vroum Vroum being taken out FFS! As an owner who'd rather win a listed race there when she has a choice of Grade Ones at Punchestown next week?!! Totally understandable decision methinks.
Absolutely. Can't wait for Punchestown, are we to expect "normal-ish" ground Beefy i.e. no monsoon conditions?
I'm usually a critic of Mullins/Ricci plans but once the title was gone, it makes total sense to get her in a top race at home next week.
I'm up in NI Oddy so not as local as some but think theres rain forecast later half of week but I'd say if it doesn't come there'll be watering to keep it safe I'd hope
Beefy, any word on whether Vautour runs in the 2m Champion Chase or rocks up against Cue Card/Don Cossack?
Ah but you know your onions when it comes to Irish racing mate so I assume you done your weather reconnaissance
Lost the internet and couldn't listen to the race. What happened with Squire (I know he was 4th) and why wasn't Rob on him? Hopefully good for his handicap. I'm looking to have a good bet on him in the Cambridgeshire . doubling up with Buzz. No harm in dreaming.
