Nothing really takes my fancy in the horses today but i think i've found a cracking little double in the football today. League 1 double - Gillingham and Doncaster to win 8/1 Yeovil v Gillingham - Gillingham win 5/2 Gillingham have been on fire recently, unbeaten in their last 6 and have beaten Peterborough, Sheff Utd and MK Dons in their last three games. They really have turned the corner and are now only 4 points outside the playoffs. Justin Edinburgh was an extremely shrewd appointment after working wonders with Newport and has hit the ground running. Yeovil on the other hand are really struggling. Bottom of the league and are really struggling to score goals, only 4 since the turn of the year. Gillingham have already won at Yeovil in the capital one cup earlier in the season and i think this is an absolutely huge price today Port Vale v Doncaster - Doncaster win 8/5 Doncaster haven't lost away from home in the league since mid October and come into this having won their last three league games. Their last away game they beat Crawley 5-0. Port Vale have been a bit hit and miss this season but i think Doncaster can carry on their good form and win this.
For those of you that like to share the ramblings of a madman. I really like BELTOR and while it seems impossible for such a small yard to have a Triumph horse in the yard I have actually backed him at 50-1 for the race. He was hugely impressive on debut (I tipped him) and the form has been boosted twice. He has to win nicely again today to be a contender but he could do just that. Mikey Heard has been "the boy" on consecutive Saturdays and his mount LAMBS CROSS (4.45 Chepstow) is the bet of the day for me. He is off a very handy mark and young Mikeys claim is a big plus. The Gillard yard has been in great form recently but too small for any of us to really take note. He is a cracking price! Great to see Ryan Moore in action at leafy Lingfield today and he should bag a couple of winners. I am all over GREY MIRAGE at 7's to win the race he won last year at 2:15. The marathon Eider at Newcastle is a fascinating race and I think HERDSMAN is a bit of value. He ran a belter last time and I think he has a very decent chance at the weights. Good luck to you all today.
Two for moi.willie was pretty bullish about an dearg loch in his rp column so backed him in the fairy bumper 2/1.Also think shotgun paddy is worth an ew flutter in 2.55 at newcastle
I agree attivo, they were never going fast enough for him today. 16-1 is still huge! If he was with Henderson he would be favourite!
Beltor was a great find by you Stick, I remember you had tipped him up first time out. Watching him today at no point did I think he would get beat, Tom O'brien always had a tight hold of him and seemed very confident.
That was lovely to see. You can crab the form of what his beat but still very impressive giving lumps of weight away. What a jump at the second last too. Champion Chase could be brilliant this year.
Agreed Chan, lovely performance and most firms now have him vying for favouritism for the Champion Chase. Should be a cracker. Firebird Flyer e/w in the Pertemps Qualifier at Chepstow - will relish the trip and ground and is decently treated on his return to hurdles.
Bleeding hell, Nicholls gets bigger every time I see him - put down the fork Paul!! Shout on the winners guys!!
Two good places and a very good winner well done again Boris. I know you don't go EW but I've been doing EW lucky 15/31/63 on your selections recently so I'm well in profit so thanks
Been an hour behind everyone else as I was having some work done on the motorhome and watching C4 recordings. Well done all with winners today - and as for the horses, all I can say is (aftertime alert) .... what a little Beltor! As low as 10's for the Triumph, but that's still not a bad bet. I didn't remember Stickler tipping it the first time, but I watched it's previous race and was well impressed - and if I'd seen it sooner, I'd have chanced an AP too You can't be sure what the Irish will bring, but this fellow is the business. Great run from SDG as well, yes he didn't beat that much, but the manner of his win, conceding lumps all round was tidy. And Rocky Creek advertised his GN chances big time - I think he'd still have won this even if the market leaders had stood up. A good days racing
Rightdownthemiddle 16/1 wins, smashed up too Couple of 2nds as well, Glen Moss nailed but Midnight Game well held, Santefisio got no run with Fanning again!!
