Evening all.

I really like the chances of El Hayem tomorrow in the last at Newbury. Slightly unlucky last time out at Chester and has the profile of a nice progressive horse Sir Michael Stoute usually does well with. Also sweet on Galileo Gold in the Lockinge. Frankie seems confident he is back to his best and if so 4/1 looks big. Can't be having Ribchester at 13/8 as I believe if they are both at their best GG is the better horse.

Good luck.

Go to Bangor today for my Saturday punt, Zenafire in the 16:15 handicap hurdle. Will probably double my stake and make it e/w at the available 7/1 at time of writing, as the gelding really should make the frame in this pretty ordinary event. Sharp hurdle course should suit this Firebreak gelding. Note good jockey booked by stable.

Have a good day everyone! <ok>

1:55 Crin Au Vent 2/1

Novice Chase with odds on jolly. Hargam was ok on chase debut but I think he might just be regressive these days. So against him it's the PN trained Crin Au Vent who goes chasing after two poor runs in the U.K.

He looks a chaser to me, and PN horses are ones to follow in novice/beginner chases. He has the class on his French form and he can take this.

Also the third horse Lofgren is interesting and can be competitive here. A forecast of CAV and Lofgren is also a small bet.

Francesca Cumani...getting paid presumably to present racing on the television, asks Kieron Fallon "does it really matter if their parents preferred that ground" <yikes>

Fallon replied, "90% of the time it does", bluntly.

What a bloody ride there in France by Ruby to get SHANESHILL up to sink the serial rogue that is L'ami Serge! Lovely stuff, and great placing by the GOAT to win it 3 out of 4 years. Nice bit of prize money to head home with!

3rd in a good Triumph. He's a better horse than he is showing.

I didn't think it was good. Below average in my book. Visually, I've never liked Hargam and never had a serious thought of him being good enough. He's getting smashed to pieces by mediocre handicappers now when he should be progressing. He is only 6 so he has time if they need to persist.

I never openly criticised him when others were slamming him as he was due a chance.

JP looking to pull off a masterstroke perhaps <laugh>

Somehow 5/1 looks the one to be with given conditions and improving types. The rest look limited and regressive to me and she may well be good enough to beat the boyos up.
