Shame to see you leave you put some good tips up and genuinely seem like one of the good ones on here. All the best.
I feel that for whatever reason Dawn Approach was not the same horse today, whether unsettled by the course early or simply something he is obviously unable to tell us, but I do not feel he would have won the Guineas today let alone a Derby. Were he simply a non stayer he would still have put up a better show than that in my opinion, it was like a different horse. I think he will return and prove that the run was all wrong, I see him being campaigned at a mile and then stepped up to 10furlongs and getting it fine. Happy to be wrong but that's my view at the moment, he is better than that regardless of distance. Best Wishes Top Class, I have no doubt you will be missed, good luck with it.
We've come so far and we've reached so high And we've looked each day and night in the eye And we're still so young and we hope for more We've come a long way But we're not too sure where we've been We've had success, we've had good times But remember this Been on this path of life for so long Feel I've walked a thousand miles Sometimes strolled hand in hand with love Everybody's been there With danger on my mind I would stand on the line of hope And I knew I could make it Once I knew the boundaries I looked into the clouds and saw My face in the moonlight Just then I realized what a fool I could be Just 'cause I look so high you don't have to see me Finding a paradise wasn't easy but still There's a road going down the other side of this hill Never forget where you're coming from Never pretend that it's all real Someday soon this will all be someone else's dream This will be someone else's dream Safe from the arms of dissapoitment for so long Feel each day we've come too far Yet each day seems to make much more Sure is good to be here I understand the meaning of 'I can't explain this feeling' now And it feels so unreal At night I see the hand that reminds me of the stand that I made The fact of reality Never forget where you're coming from Never pretend that it's all real Someday soon this will all be someone else's dream This will be someone else's dream We've come so far and we've reached so high And we've looked each day and night in the eye And we're still so young and we hope for more But remember this We're not invincible, we're not invicible, no We're only people, we're only people Hey we're not invincible, we're not invicible So again I tell you Never forget where you're coming from Never pretend that it's all real Someday soon this will all be someone else's dream This will be someone else's dream Never, never forget where Never pretend that it's all real Someday soon this will all be someone else's dream This will be someone else's dream Never, everybody sing, oh baby Never, no never, never forget for love Someday, louder, louder, louder, louder loud Never, everybody sing that song Never, yeah louder, louder, loud now Someday, come on, come on, everybody, everybody Everybody, everybody, everybody Never forget where you're coming from Never pretend that it's all real Someday soon this will all be someone else's dream This will be someone else's dream We've come so far and we've reached so high And we've looked each day and night in the eye And we're still so young and we hope for more
Only just seen this due to BB being on the ignore list. Looks like Bob confused this forum with the 'Take That' fans forum LOL!!
Top stuff tward07. Excellent ride by Moore who got it spot on in the race before too... I thought Mars would have finished in the top 3 today had Hughes given the horse a better ride. He tucked him out in last place but then was not careful enough to ensure a smoother passage through horses unlike Libertarians jockey... perhaps Hughes wasnt concentrating enough - in the jockey photo session before the race ..he was last out and joking about - think he needs to be a bit better switched on mentally! Not a good ride from Hughes is my assessment!
I didn't fancy Dawn Approach to stay mainly based on his dam's sire and great grandam's sire. But there was nothing in his 2000G win to tell you he wouldn't stay. It is always fascinating when a 2000G winner tries to go to the Derby. Many have failed but many who people said wouldn't stay (Sir Ivor, Nijinsky, Mill Reef, Grundy and Sea the Stars) went on to win. I don't think DA was the same horse today as he seemed lit up but that's the Derby. It could have been the slow pace, as in the 2000G it was fast and he could stretch out. Here he was being restrained as it was so slow. It was interesting that once he went to near the front the Coolmore leaders ran for all they were worth. So DA couldn't even relax in front as he was harried by BoM. I'd like to see the sectional times. As someone else has said it was Tudor Minstrel all over again. Coolmore's tactics were clever. But we need to see how good DA is. My worry is that in the milers division there's not too much to test him.
I missed this Toppy, you have been a credit to the forum and I'm sorry to find you are leaving. All the very best to you and you know you will be welcomed back any time.
