Non-Standard Race Times Source: Racing Post

The introduction of non-standard race times in Britain on a trial basis starts today in an attempt put an end to the upward trend of races going off at least two minutes late. Analysis by the Horseracing Bettors Forum indicated 39 per cent of all-weather races and 38 per cent of turf races started two minutes after post time last year, up from 26 per cent and 30 per cent respectively in 2015.

The four-week trial, which will consist of 11 racedays, was announced by the BHA , in conjunction with Horse Racing Ireland, in an attempt to avoid races clashing to reduce the need for requests to delay races and to improve the viewing experience of off-course bettors and spectators.

I don’t see the point of this, surely a bit of common sense is key and does it matter if they go off a few minutes late? The biggest issue on race times is that races are scheduled too close together

tomorrow we’ve got 12:57 and then 1:03 seriously what is the point of that!?

Klassical Dream is lame and misses the Irish Champion Hurdle. Looks like the horse is doomed to fail this season. The Cheltenham race looks worse by the minute and defeat for Honeysuckle will surely leave it looking devoid of potential class now that Envoi Allen has been confirmed for the Ballymore.

I am chancing Lieutenant Command in the bumper at 4.20. He was as impressive as any I have seen this season and although not beating much he pretty much destroyed his field last time. He could be anything and although not as soft a surface this time he appealed at 12/1 in a discipline where form is tenuous and the runners far from exposed. Eric Bloodaxe and Appreciate It are heading the market and are also prominent for the Cheltenham Bumper but 2/1 and 7/4 don't appeal to me. I prefer Eric Bloodaxe of the pair, with the Mullins horse dropping half a mile this time and likely to need to show more pace.

4.20 Leopardstown Lieutenant Command 12/1 seemed overpriced somewhat.

players like that are rare as rocking horse ****e , only cos he was shagging some players wife at leeds did you get him ! The rest as they say is history , what would arsenal give for another Henry /Viera , Bergkamp , jesus they were in the same team !!!

Truth is , you’ve had a good run at the top , an era that you and arsenal dominated , other teams are there now , looks like Klopp will do the same for liverpool with citeh keeping him honest !!!

Done a footie bet today , Villa to rip the cherries , Borehamwood to win away as usual , And the Magpies to do the Canaries , pays 17/1 the treble ........:afro:

Us here in Bangor have formed a new club , fan owned , and are now the 122nd best supported non league club in uk , despite playing in tier 5 of welsh football , we play away this aft in Llanystumdwy , for those not familiar , The village where Lloyd George was born and raised , its got a pub , we will have a great day there !

    Mugs yankee material at Sandown:-

    3.35 Classic Ben
    3.00 Ask Ben
    2.25 Good Boy Bobby
    4.10 Stick With Bill

All with realistic chances although Good Boy Bobby faces the once mighty Laurina who looks huge at 85/40 for those who once saw her as the new Annie Power.

Good luck to everyone having a bet today.
