Stick what do you think of Zwayaan, 4.15 Ayr. Didn't win for us last day, but I stuck him in tracker because he was flying at the finish after gentle treatment.Backed him today EW at 8/1, Oisin up.
The Silver Cup, a hopeful Rathbone for me. It's a 24 runner handicap, could anything be worse? ... Oh yeah, the 25 runner Gold Cup.
In the Mill Reef the Prix Morny 3rd Rhythm Master sets the obvious form standard after running in Group 1 company. Campanelle was a ready winner of that race though and Nando Parrado, who was runner up, had won a poor looking Coventry previous to that and Tactical had not really impressed in terms of the depth to his form. On one hand you could view that Rhythm Master took a massive step forward from a taking debut but I just wonder. Others bring promise, more than actual form and Devilwala is the other with Group form after being placed in the Gimcrack. I had him each-way that day but I have had some disappointments with Archie Watson's 2YOs as they move forward. It remains to be seen if the Gimcrack is as good as the assessors made it out to be and I went with one taking a huge step up today. Fivethousandtoone hacked up last time but it was a nothing race really. The son of Frankel had more pace than some of his sires offspring and what struck me that day was the way he skips along the ground. Smartly away and always going well he came through easily and put it to bed. He was eased right down and I thought he could have won 10 lengths had he been pushed right out. He seems to have plenty of toe and should go well on the ground today. At 11/4 he was just the pick as a horse coming in after a confidence boosting win, although others could also improve. I thought he looked a good prospect. 3.25 Newbury Fivethousandtoone 11/4
I just think he is more a horse for the AW. I hope I am wrong for your sake. He was certainly finishing to good effect.
Magical Spirit ... drawn low, in the van pretty much all the way .... sometimes almost anything you reason gets proven nonsense Extra Elusive will deffo be in the first four
Yep, draw of the first four 4-5-7-11 Kings Lynn drawn 6 out fast and switches to the stands side. There was plenty of pace on the far side and that made a lot of difference. Be interesting to see how it works out in the Gold Cup but the draw is stopping nobody.
Desert Encounter looks too big at 5/1 now, past his best but usually runs well at the track and ran better than the form book says last time, Buick will need to time it right on him, would have preferred Spencer to be on. Who knows what Elarqam will show up today and thats not what you want in a 7/4 shot.
Elarqam on a going day, Buick looked confident but Elarqam found plenty after looking to be in trouble, Desert Encounter just not the force of old at 8yo now.
Another Hamdan, his best season for a long time, was hard to back based on winning a pretty poor maiden. Rhythm Master never looked to be going well on the ground, his first 2 runs were on soft and looks like thats what he needs based on that below par effort. Same is probably true for Bahrain Pride who also won his first 2 on soft. Looks a case of the front 2 loving the ground and the others not so much, think Balding will be disappointed to get beat by Alkumait, sounded like he rates Thivethousandtoone quite highly, ran well though and looks like a nice type in the making, id be surprised if the Frankel colt didnt turn out the better of those two.
