Well Mr Henderson finally wins a national!! With Brain Power Very lucky I must say. Even if it was the American version over hurdles <laugh> Very frustrating seeing as I was on Wicklow Brave had the race at his mercy before falling at the last (looked nasty too) but luckily he looked to get up ok, so that’s what matters!

That's desperately sad news. What a little warrior Wicklow Brave was.

Very sad indeed!! I know this term is used a lot when horses pass away but I really do mean it Wicklow Brave really was a legend to win an Irish Champion Hurdle, a Irish St Leger, a Cheltenham Festival Winner And I could continue. He will be sorely missed!! <peacedove> RIP

Nearly a million quid in prize money. Just short headed in the Coral Cup this year having won the County Hurdle in 2015. I remember the commentator saying that it looked like he'd just joined the race turning in he won that easily. He beat Order of St George in that Irish Leger win too. He deserved a long retirement in the paddock. Sad he didn't get it.

I came across a nice blog on Wicklow Brave and dealing with horse racing deaths generally at taniakindersley.blogspot.com. Fergal O'Brien had retweeted it. Excellent piece.
