I’ve been here 24 years and seen massive change. Gentrification is currently a huge issue with property prices being driven through the roof by foreign investors. It does somehow feel like home though because of (1) the quirky Berliners and (2) the extremely diverse population. A very relaxed place to live
That’s what annoys me about flat racing - in the first at Newbury the Hamdan runner falls out of the stalls, is ridden quietly out the back and finishes really nicely to grab 4th. I’m sure that will prove to be the best horse in the race long term but that was just public schooling.
