What's the temperature like over there? Bloody 38 here. Went to the beach yesterday afternoon. Left just before 8pm and it was still 29degrees then. Not sure how this will affect the performance of some horses so will leave off today. Pity those having to play football.
I've backed, in the market without Abated, Talqaa at 5/1. Has had a run and was running a huge race when unlucky in running in a class 2 maiden first time out.
I had 2 bets lined up for today. Strong Suit, but now I'm wondering if the ground might come up too fast, and Stirring Ballad. After re-examining the latter's last race, Shamaal Nibras is 7lbs better off for 3l and, in that race, Shamaal Nibras was badly drawn and held up well off the pace. Prior to that he was beaten 4½L by Trade Commissioner. Enough to lessen my enthusiasm for Stirring Ballad.
Put it this way Ron - when I left home in Berlin at 6.00 AM this morning it ws already warmer than it currently is in Sheffield. I understand it's a bit toastier darn sarf though
Ninjago here, one of Hannon's smarter 2yos I have heard, works well with horses who have form in the book.
I'll take 2nd to add to Just the Judge win I'd like to see Fleeting Smile run over a mile, provisionaly entered to go over a mile in the shadwell fillies.
Absolute shocker of a ride by Ryan Moore there, left the favourite far far to much to do in the last half furlong
I have a feeling that he's ride may cost me by the end of the day as have a few nice doubles and trebles that all contained Strong Suit. Hughsie would not have let that happen in my opinion.
Hi chaps on phone today so not posting much. League comp 3 firsts and a 3rd so far .... Bar et Fair in the next. Good luck
