So Zarkandar has been retired from racing, I do hope he enjoys a long and enjoyable time in the fields...
Just thought id post the one race that epitomised the main reason why I loved that horse so much, the Aintree Hurdle 2013...

Still gives me good bumps... It's bubbling up nicely... And it certainly did...!! Enjoy...

Never seen a horse come up from Swinley Bottom over fences like this ...................... Winged the 5th last to 2nd last and just cruised up to Cue Card with a double handful. If he'd winged the last (instead of getting in close and being very clever) he'd have won 6 lengths on the snaff. His cruising speed is monstrous and he has that change of gear to put the race to bed. Chetenham will be very much dependent on the ground but I'd love to see him take on Altior and Douvan in the Champion Chase.

I think he has a massive engine but would get taken off his feet in the Champion Chase and stay on past beaten horses to finish 3rd or 4th. I really don't think that's the right race for him.

King George - i'm throwing it out there...

Yep, agree he looks a King George type Bob, I was just saying where I'd target him at Cheltenham this time around if it came up soft. If it doesn't I'm sure they'll skip it and draw up a plan for next season.

Ryanair at Cheltenham for me. I really don't think he can take the pace at Championship level over 2 miles.

Watching Brian Hughes's post race interview. 'I'd be bollocked because i'm not meant to hit him and i hit him twice'.

What a performance by Waiting Patiently I like most of the forum was on Blaklion cost me a small fortune. But can’t complete with that win! Cue card- there still seems life in the old boy still!

Really hope WP goes to Ryanair if he gets his ground boy he will give UDS a race!

MJ will be dancing with the gods tonight <peacedove>

That really tickled me your analysis of Our Duke..'i ve got no time for Our Duke and a glorified handicapper...' ..blah blah blah.. Presenting Percy and Mal Dini double..having it off etc!...and then Our Duke of course wins and massive egg on face time for Boston!. Horse must have a good chance in an open Gold Cup...

Analysis of Waiting Patiently was spot on so well done on that score..

    Eh?

I didn’t say I was having it right off on Presenting Percy and Mal Dini did I? Where the hell is that on this thread? I’d love to see it.

Just shows, yet again, how little you seem to understand this game Captain.

A novice running a handicapper like Our Duke to a length or so is a massive performance. Most of the RSA field won’t get anywhere near that standard in their entire careers. But then again, why am I wasting my time.

You said it earlier in the thread saying Our Duke had no chance and referred in another post to having it off Presenting Percy and Mal Dini...check back if you dont believe me. Surely you remember what you posted it was only yesterday?
