Henderson with a rare bad day at the office, but surely Oscar Whisky is a good thing?

I have always rated Dougie Costello as a jockey and today he rode brilliantly. Fast becoming my favourite jockey.

I had Zarkandar today but Grandouet does look a class act. Haven't looked at his form but wouldn't want him against me on a sound surface.

It was a good comeback run Ron, I would want to see him go on from this and really win convincingly somewhere before the festival

He'd have won that even with me on his back! Except the stewards might not have liked the 4 stone overweight <laugh>

I've had a good day for once - time for a libation I feel :)

Good luck if you are still playing on the night racing <ok>

indeed ron, was a nice return to action against the battle hardened zarkandar. What is the general rules regarding the weight concession as in the lengths it is worth? I know obviously it is open to interpretation.

Oscar Whisky has to go at the Champion Hurdle. He'd have loved it last year with that stiff pace.

He looks a fecking beast George - very convinced by him, he stays well and has very good tactical speed. I'd rather be on him than Grandouet tbh <ok>

Zarkandar is a great horse and a fav of mine but I can't see him winning a Champion Hurdle.

One thing I was slightly disappointed by was that Grandouet hadn't quite filled out as I had hoped. He is a real talent though and if it is good ground in March he will be in the shakeup.

Oscar Whisky simply has to go for a Champion Hurdle. He has everything you need. He would be feared for sure.

Looks a really good Champion Hurdle renewal on paper. Would love to see Peddlers Cross have another crack, think he has been totally and utterly underestimated. Only one real bad run and that was the Jewson last season, where he clearly wasn't right.

I don't think Zarkandar will win but Grandouet will finish behind Zarkandar imho. I know Stick, but I think he would have won off levels and the pace didn't suit him today. The ground perhaps was more in his favour??

Todays ground possibly didn't suit any of the three. I would be taking todays result with a pinch of salt. Good race though!

Decent day's racing with just the one bet in the last at Donnie, Court By Surprise. The winning distance of just a nose was a bit of a shock though as camera angle at the finish was confusing.

(Yes, it was my selection earlier on, so no aftertiming! <laugh>).

(That Zarkandar is all guts BTW, and bags of talent too).

    Nice one Swanny.

I thought I couldn't be hit by football depression today as the Owls aren't playing until 5.20. Hiwever, with posh leading at Cardiff we are now bottom of the fecking league.

Great speech from Barack Obama last night, had me in tears. Hope he follows it up with some actions on gun possession. I've been to Wal Mart in the US and you can just walk right in and buy an assault rifle <doh>

Yes, Oddy, the gun business over there is awful. If the nation's founding fathers could ever have foreseen all of this it would never have got into their constitution. My American boss on two of my contracts lost both, yes both, his sons in unrelated gun incidents in Texas. Gruesome and tragic. Unfortunately the gun lobby is so strong over there I cannot see it changing any day soon, although President Obama will do his best to do something.

Been busy on Xmas things so now looking back at day's racing which I recorded on Channel 4. Not bad at all. Yes, this bottom of the league business ain't funny at all. My team appear to be in an even more solid anchor position <yikes>.

Have a great Sunday; off to friends for pre-Xmas lunch bash, so no racing tomorrow.
