Think it was Mr Chuckles who first put up Time Test before the Lockinge meeting in 2015. The horse went on to be my favourite of the last 2 flat seasons. Has now been sent West to the Chad brown barn and has his second run tonight at Belmont(10:37). Perfect conditions for the horse tonight. Only 2/1 but having a decent bet.
On his CV it says excels in arranging walls. Didn't realise he was a builderJoe Hart
As of June 6th there have been 81 on-course racehorse fatalities in the UK. Not sure whether Spring Bok was number 82 or whether there were others between June 6th and his sad demise at Stratford. Poor fella, RIP

I often wonder Oddy the fatality numbers due to jumping during the summer on firmer ground. I'm one of the minority who seemingly doesn't kick off when watering is mentioned before Cheltenham as common sense to me anyway tells me its infinitely safer for man and beast to fall on ground with give in it than ground like concrete. Probably of more benefit to the jockey I suppose but it's why I never like to see jumping on ground without soft mentioned in the description.
I don't agree with summer NH racing due to the ground Beefy, but the monthly stats for 2017 are:
Jan - 13
Feb - 14
Mar - 26
Apr - 14
May - 12
March the worst month by far this year, I guess one would need to look at the prevailing ground to see how much "soft" was in the descriptor where the deaths occurred. NH racing should, as you say, only take place on safe ground with juice in it. Otherwise they are going too fast and a fall is more likely to be fatal at higher speeds.
