Anyone have any experience of satellite internet? I'm thinking of switching to it.

Varies Cyc. But I would also have a UK IP address, which would give me access to a lot that currently I don't have access to.

No feedback implies maybe it isn't that popular?

Just use Hola if you want a UK IP address Ron - I'm sat here in Berlin watching the England match on itv via tvplayer.com using Hola to give me a UK IP address

I'm watching it on ITV Oddy.

It's not that I'm after a UK IP address. I've had a lot of trouble with our internet lately and, if France Telecom/Orange say we have to chop down a load of trees, we will be switching to satellite internet and tell them to go away

Why doesn't your internet come in via underground cable Ron? Is it because you are very remote and dependent upon overground cables?

Probably Oddy. We're about half a mile from any public road and about 1/4 mile from our nearest neighbours. But we are only about 1.5 miles from the town. So although we don't feel remote (everything we ever need seems to be just down the road) I suppose it's a long way to lay a cable. Maybe they should give us planning permission to put up some houses <laugh>
