There are a number of ways of deriving value out of it, as you say you could back the 2nd fav each way, you will be getting 9/4 the place, lay off the place on betfair at 2.2 to guarantee profit and keep the win part of the bet and hope for the best. All you really need to know is that a place book which is betting to 237% on 3 places equals about 80% per place. Anything below a 100% book is profitable in the longer term, 80% is extremely profitable. They are betting to 114% on the win part of the book though, which means you can expect to lose on that part of the bet over the longer term - it's just the value on the place part more than cancels out the loss you will make on the win part. The best value horse to back would be Thomas Chippendale at 25/1 each way with 365, I'm not sure I can bring myself to back something I don't fancy to win even if it is cracking value.
Rebecca Romero is most definitely the victim of the unluckiest loser/one of the worst rides I have ever seen by Eddie Ahern. He could of easily switched her out wide but he tried to wait for a gap that was never going to appear and she gets beaten by a length when still on the bridle.
mick, none of us are interested in that ****, give us a good 5/1 shot we are not arbers, we are real punters
