It is true Dex -got massive between fights all of the time and then trained for 12 weeks. Amazing how much weight he would lose in that amount of time.

    Very disappointing. Also watching MOTM.

Unfortunately my team is in free fall on the way to NL football. 1 goal attempt last week and 3 today. Still, had a £1,000 on them to lose today in our L2 Betting Comp.

Almost as expensive as London believe it or not Oddy.

I was in Darcy's restaurant last night and then the Errigle Inn which was packed after the Ulster Rugby win but always a good night to be had. They drink like **** over here.

A couple of corking Indians as well and plenty of good boozers which prioritise racing over all other sports.

Look me up when you come!!

Just regarding Ricky Hatton- all I hope is that he doesn't get hurt in the ring. I hope he banishes the demons of his Pacman defeat by winning a fight or two but in terms of elevating his reputation, it will not happen.

Pacquaio and Mayweather were always going to trouble him because of there speed and his poor defence/come forward style. That's the way it does unfortunately. The issue for Hatton is that whilst he was world class, he was elevated into superstardom far too quickly and he bought it all- every last word. Talking in the 3rd person all of a sudden and thinking he really was this peoples champion.

His style left him open against the elite and was always going to be the case. He did amazingly well to beat Tzsyu and the demolitions of good fighters like Castillo (although past his best). Ricky overachieved in boxing. I just hope he can retire feeling happy with himself and be healthy. Always superb entertainment.

Toppy never thought Pacquiao had the power to KO hatton in 2 - still don't feel things were right then. Mayweather I could understand.

    Martinez vs Chavez Jnr

    Alvarez vs Lopez

    thoughts ?

I think Martinez will knock out Chavez Junior. Chavez just hasn't impressed me much but I hate taking on a Roach fighter when Roach knows they are the underdog. He obviously sees some talent. However I think Martinez has got the power to seriously put Chavez on the back foot and will test his chin. I wonder how much Chavez really wants it. We'll find out.

Saul Alvarez can stop Lopez. Lopez throws a lot of punches and will be looking to land the big shots as he has put on weight too quick for the fight so is not in great condition. Lopez will get caught by some very fast accurate counter punching.

Agree with both tbh <ok> especially Martinez vs Chavez.

Have taken a chance on Lopez stoppage at a big price though - although not likely to happen.

Boxing is in the drain a little bit, it needs the best to fight each-other. Andre Ward looks a serious talent.

Mayweather and PacMan looks unlikely unless Pacquaio dominates Marquez to throw himself back into the PPV limelight and bring the money to the table. Never seen a robbery as bad as his that day against Bradley though. I had Pac winning 10 rounds of that fight <yikes>

Can see your thinking behind Lopez- he will not lack for trying and will throw some bombs early.

    Agreed <ok>

    Yepp Ward is very good.

Mayweather vs Pacquaio very unlikely. Don't think Manny is fighting anywhere near his best but you are defs right about the Bradley fight - absolute robbery.

Lopez is a good fighter <ok>. Decent test for Alvarez - if only Lopez didn't break Ortiz's jaw though - Ortiz vs Alvarez would have been a great fight

Just heard Nevin Spence died today in a tragic accident.

He played rugby for Ulster and Ireland...His father and brother also died in the farmyard accident involving a slurry tank.

Very upsetting.I left the Errigle last night after celebrating their win.Ravenhill is only a mile down the road.

SUFTUM (stand up for the ulster men) was beating out from the late night revellers.

    R.I.P.
