If you're that "badly" hurt that you need to go off the pitch,then I think there should be a minimum time you have to stay off for...maybe 3 mins.Either that or put away the white dangly string between their legs and get on with it like rugby players do.

My issue with the rule is that when someone fouls another player that team goes down to 10 men if the player has to leave the field, so it's an advantage for the team that commits the foul. If a player has to leave the field after being fouled then the offender should also have to leave the pitch and both come back on at the same time. Just doesn't make sense as it stands
yes that is fari sisu but as much as you'd like it suarez smashing a ball in a guys nuts is not a foul. you have to have simplicity so basically man up no 1. i saw el classico and the amount of rolling about decapitated and amputees was astounding and few got actual treatment. if someone is genuinely injured by someone as a foul you get a free and most of the time the ref waves guys on asap. refs bascially decide if someone is whining or not and delays recalling them. The rule is punishing the genuinely injured but its for the greater good of trying to reduce fakery. If we had no rule the last ten of any game would be a permanent state of physio activity. it ruins the game. so if on a few occasions a side is down to ten men while they take a free... fine... I'd rather see a sin bin for time wasting than offender and offendee off cos frankly we'll just see more fakery with people like real singling out teams best players, diving and rolling about to get that player off the pitch. EG... suarez is hot... right i go in, roll about hobble off and i've suarez in my pocket for 5mins..... yeah that'd be a great rule!
So you think players will take themselves out of the game to take other players out of the game? I doubt it, not that it is impossible but just really unlikely, also players usually come straight back on, the problem for Cardiff was that there was a set piece and they could not come back on until it was taken so maybe that's where the rules need to chance, players can just come back on even if the ball is not in play
yes.. i will bet you anything if real madrid had a choice they'd rather a player be sitting on the sideline getting their sock darned while messi supervises than have him on the pitch in the last ten. i can promise you hand on heart that mourinho would pull the stunt with absolutely no question in my mind. you'd see every big game he's played this season has had bus parking, diving, time wasting etc so he'd see it as just one more tactic. Cardiff had a unique and unusual situation so if we need to legislate for every single unusual occurrence the rule book would be huge. One guy got the ball in the sack.. he should have protected himself in the wall better... his own fault. the other got a ball in the ear. either one could have got up. neither was badly injured. there is nothing wrong with one guy with a head issue going off for safety... but the point is they didn't concede as a result, they merely let skertl had a free head when the guy marking him was still there (for the second time) AND nobody marked sturridge or suarez who ran in and let the ball flop over the line. for a corner one guy would typically stay up the pitch.... thats one of the guys who went off... so they really only lost one guy and that would have been incredibly rare over the course of a year... so do we legislate for it? no i hardly think so.
