I agree with you BHD but we're not talking about the general population of that country but those who own the English Champions and are currently awaiting an answer to their application to take a European Cup tie to Cape Town.

But Norway made it seem general which gets to me. I am very very close to a South African family and i would do anything for them and they would me. Yes the owners of the Saracens might be funny, but that does not make the whole of South Africa funny.

That may be, but not all of them are like that. The same as i am not your typical 20yr old and i make no claims to be. We often make claims on a small sampling of the people/place/attitude in question. I am particularly defensive of Juan-Mari (my south african friend) and her family.

Used to go out with a south african girl , hell we travelled the middle east together! I used up a lot of my savings when she had to go to hospital with a nasty fever, all I got from her dad was you shag her and I will kill you !!
I too have a lot of spring bok friends there are many on the aviation contract circuit globally one out of a hundred that I would employ!
I would rather walk through luton on a friday night wearing a watford top than I would walk out of a hotel compound after dark in Jo `berg! even the UK could learn lots about crime from SA!

That may be so, but we are not that dissimilar. But like you say we will have to agree to disagree.

Yeah i know. But one bad person does not make the entire nation bad. There are exceptions to every rule. Juan-Mari is the biggest of all of them.

Sounds like a nice woman ! There is a contractor up North in Fløro called Gaily Mukumbwe , from Zimbabwe , again you couldnt wish to meet a nicer person ! Unfortunately these people seem to be the exception rather than the rule!

I guess it's like anywhere in the world though. You can meet the nicest people you'd ever meet.... and some of the ones you would never want to meet again!

My time in SA I met some fabulous people, and some of the most welcoming... but then there were parts (Particularly in Durban and Jo'Burg) where you were just warned to stay well away from! We didn't heed the advice in Durban, and could see why!

Likewise I've got good south african friends ANC and old regime afrikaans ex military both sides as well as civilians. The truth is that there are exceptios to the rule, you always find the travellers more palatable than the locals wherever you go in the world (exception being english in spain!!) ie those who have seen a bit of the world and have the money to migrate are of the upper echelons of society and don't get there by sitting on their backsides. Taking the population as a whole in south africa it is worse in terms of work ethic and criminality than the UK. BHD don't base your opinion on 1 family!!!
