I agree Murrey - and i think he will show he is a much better player than Clichy was.

The problem so far really is with his pace/fitness and i think that will change as he adapts to the EPL and hits the gym a little more :P

His attacking play is good, his skills are of clear brazilian quality and as you say he has real tackling ability.

I have not fully decided that he is the answer to our left back problems as it is too early to tell at this early stage of the season - but if he can adapt properly to the pace of the EPL he really will be a brilliant signing.
 
His tackling style is to stand side on and then try to jump in all the time. Not one for jocking players or standing off them. Sometimes they work other times they look awful. He was up against a class player in Mata yesterday so he was made to look bad at times. Next time he does need to vary his style a bit.

To which I say ... the guy's just come from Fenerbache. The Turkish league and the Premier League are gulfs apart; our league is generally faster and everyone's a bit fitter. Give him a chance to adapt and the pace will get to an acceptable level, and then he'll be better than Gibbs is at present.

Brazilians love good food - look at Kaka and the real Ronaldo :P

Once he loses a bit of weight though i think alot of people will be suprised by his contribution this season.

Wengers signings are looking rather good imo - maybe not quite the panic buys people had assumed.
 
'Panic buy' was just a media spin cliche.

Does anyone really think Wenger panics when he buys players?
He's probably the one manager who takes more time to sign a player than anyone else.

The idea that he just panicked and bought whoever he could is naive.
 
I agree - it really annoyed me when everyone assumed Wenger grabbed who he could. It was clear he had been looking at these players already (bar benayoon who i think became available and AW had a liking for).
 
Arteta had been mentioned a couple of years before, when the idea of Fabregas leaving for Barca first became a concern.
 
For a Brazilian, it was a shockingly bad dance.

Specifically, it's a Pacific Sailfish.
