The only problem with this is that he regularly contradicts himself, saying that a player's not doing enough in training to warrant selection, then saying that they're training very well.
He did it with Paulinho and appears to be annoying a lot of our best players, including both of our holding players, a role which he's comically derided as being unnecessary.
Les Ferdinand ranted against it, claiming that our manager agrees with him, then used Fernandinho as his example of why they shouldn't be used, somewhat bizarrely.
Notice that big bloody great hole in front of our back four that opposition players keep exploiting, as well as the gaping one down our left hand side?
Sherwood hasn't, for some reason.
I'm never going to think footballers on Twitter is a good idea and I don't defend what Sandro said but I can understand where his frustration has come from. Maybe we should be giving Sherwood the benefit of the doubt because he sees him train. Or maybe we should give Sandro the benefit of the doubt as our past 2 managers have never had a problem with him and have made him a key part of their sides. In my opinion the history is on Sandro's side, Sherwood has fallen out with 3 good players in his short time in charge if you count Holtby and Capoue. It's like the saying goes if you run into an asshole one day then you ran into an asshole but if you're running into assholes all day then you're the asshole.
Sherwood's spent the past few months insulting players, talking about attitude problems, the ability of those in the squad and other comments I've probably forgotten. Maybe he was just trying to inspire the players but if he was then it hasn't worked. The only player we know Sherwood gets on with is Adebayor, a man who has fallen out with every manager he's had for more than a season. They both like a moan those two.
Hopefully Trim Deadwood is getting Sandro 'chomping at the bit' in time for the 'Execution' of Charlie Adam.
I assume that Sandro's a little bit pissed off on missing out on an opportunity to regain his place in Brazil's world cup squad, especially as he'd have been playing with one of their first choice midfielders if selected.
He's fit and available, yet he's not even making the bench, when the likes of Harry Winks and Milos Veljkovic made it last week against West Brom.
There's also a glaring need for a player in his role, yet the manager fails to see it, time and again, choosing to put in wingers and attacking midfielders in that position, instead.
He still shouldn't have done it, but I think he may have been spending a little too much time around Assou-Ekotto and/or Adebayor, especially as his Twitter reply was "lol, lol, lol".
Makes you wonder how many more of our supposedly injured players are actually out though, doesn't it?
there's a lot of rumours going round that Lamela's been fit since the sunderland game. Apparently his dad is furious that he's not featuring at all, as he's got the world cup coming up in the summer. He wants him out of spurs apparently.
If any of these rumours have any foundation, then we can only hope that the players are aware of Sherwood's imminent demise.

Where did these rumours start? Twitter, Sherwood confirmed Lamela was injured. You can't one minute attack Sherwood for being honest even if you think he's talking Bs and then suggest he's lying about Lamela being injured.
Twitter also started rumours about him wanting Chadli and paulinho out but he's playing them.
By the way. When I say you. Not specifically at you roo (even if that ryhmes)

His player 'man-management' is bizarre, to put it mildly.
We don't see the training sessions it's true, but watch every game and know which players who put in the hard yards and generally push the team along. Sandro - who after all, is only really just returning from various long and short term injuries - is a player who not only works his socks off, but also has a presence that imposes on the opposition. If the call at the moment is to run with Paulinho or Dembele as an alternative then I don't get it.
Paulinho in particular, who I admit gets the occasional goal, roams around without influencing games. Yesterday was a case in point: generally weak defensively and ponderous passing, often to the opposition (would need to see stats as this is my perception). The one time he showed some enthusiasm was when he chased down the CB and Lennon almost scored. Dembele came on and almost mirrored that sort of performance. The phrase that comes to mind on current form is that these players are neither 'fish nor fowl': neither DM nor creative enough.
As regards Twitter and other Social Media, as clubs cannot rely on professional common sense, the players contracts should include embargoes preventing them publicly commenting on internal matters. Surprised if they didn't already....
Paulinho's passing percentage was 90% yesterday but I accept the point, his passing has been slack at times and his defending is poor. I think he's been improving in recent weeks though, certainly in terms of attacking.
It's a bit of a culture shock for a lot of players coming to the Premier League, even from the Championship as they suddenly find themselves with no time on the ball and players who will look to win fouls against them. Even Eriksen still has a way to go until he's really proved himself in this league. Taking freekicks is the same in every country, it just helps when you build up a knowledge with the players around them but not every team will give him the time on the ball he got against Norwich in his first game.
Modric is a great example of a player adapting and excelling, he wanted too many touches initially and was shrugged away when he tried to get the ball back. Once he understood that there's more pressure on the ball he started moving it quickly forward and was able to master getting in between the ball and player when tackling. Eriksen's improvement has been particularly encouraging though and it seems like he's more aware of the amount of time he has on the ball when he receives it and I think that's in part to do with starting on the wing as even when you travel infield before getting the ball it will give him a better idea of who's around him.
I don't think Eriksen has to, or will, end up in a deeper playmaking role like Modric but on the wing can be a good place for a playmaker to build up their understanding of the game around them. When you look at the best players we've had recently; Modric played out wide for awhile, Bale played left back and then left wing before playing on the right and in the middle and King played in midfield under Pleat so I think there might be something in not having a player nailed down to one position early on. Berbatov is an exception but he was a complete player when we got him and VDV too. I forget where I was going with this though...

When Sherwood is finally sacked, his big gob will reveal all, as he's got more verbal diarrhea than Redknapp.
I would have to trust Rodgers. No other choice.
As fans we like to think we know the players, what they're like, what they would and wouldn't do...
End of the day noone knows what Sandro's like or if Sherwood is justified. But Sherwood is in a much better position to know than all of us.
Seems like noone wants to blame Sandro because he's a fan favourite.

I think that nobody wants to blame Sandro because there's been a lot of previous comments about his commitment, effort off the pitch and overall attitude.
He seemed to approach the whole move to Spurs with a really grounded and sensible spirit, taking English lessons in Brazil and having psychological assessments to help him.
When the move didn't instantly work out he just got his head down and worked hard, which a number of the players and coaches brought up in interviews.
Not only is Sandro the player that we need in terms of tactics and formation, he also seems to be the person that we need in terms of attitude and application.
Sherwood and Ferdinand's comments about holding midfielders suggest that they simply don't like players in his position, which is pretty weird.
Anyone that's watched us in recent games can see how badly we need protection in front of the back four.
You will find on this forum that the majority dislike managers who are "mouthy" so they will literally find any way possible to spin. twist or tell outright lies, just to either pass blame to such manager or take credit away and while Sherwood likes to talk and likes to mouth off, he doesn't shy away from criticism and has been truthful over the Sandro situation.
Another manager could have fined Sandro or blocked his path to the team completely, some of our previous managers such as Jol used to freeze players out but if you freeze someone out in a gentlemanly fashion then fans don't care, as much.
With Sherwood, he basically has to change his personality before the most vocal fans (who are mostly older generation) ......although we have some golden oldies like Tots who is young at heart
............accept his ways or the ones who just want to make noise (wums) will pick on his every (obvious) mistake yet they attack him for pointing out the obvious. If Sherwood is sacked, then hopefully our next manager can unite the fanbase but pleasing our fans is hard work, especially for a rookie manager like Sherwood who has been doing a fine job in terms of points, even if he may not be up the job long term.
But you're right about Sandro, he is a fan favourite, a favourite of mine but Sherwood has left the door open and hasn't punished Sandro for going on twitter and passing comment even if he undermined him and that shows he isn't just here to throw his weight around as in the past he left Capoue out for an issue, fans turned on Sherwood saying crap man manager.
Sherwood brings back Capoue and they can no longer attack him for not selecting him.....until he does something to upset a fans favourite and it starts all over again.
But history is on Sandro's side. He got on fine with the previous 2 managers and was made a key player because of his ability. Sherwood has no history on his side as in his short time at the club he's pissed off 3 players(at least) and his only friend is Adebayor.
Maybe Sherwood is in the right and Sandro hasn't been training hard enough, or maybe Sherwood is jelous of Sandro's beard and hates him for it. Neither scenario is likely, what is likely is that Sandro's approach has been the same as that impressed the previous 2 managers, both of whom are much more experienced and qualified than Sideshow Sherwood. Does it really make sense that Sandro, a player who gives everything on the pitch, would start slacking off when he's trying to win a place in the Brazil squad for a home World Cup?
AVB froze out Adebayor and Ekotto but the former has always had attitude problems and pissed off a number of people at the club and Ekotto had been breaking club rules and collecting fines like it was a game. The main thing AVB had going for him though is that for every player he annoyed, he had another 3 coming out and saying what a great atmosphere there was in the club.
We are keen to know and understand what is happening at Spurs. We clutch at straws of information and from these put forward opinions.
Sandro we like because we see the effort he puts in, he also has a sense of humour amd does not take himself too seriously, the same traits in many ways shown by Benny btw, sticking messages on twatter is cheeky but the modern world enables such things.
I am not bothered that Sherwood is 'mouthy' Boss it all depends what comes out the mouth. I have no personal axe to grind with Sherwood, he has done a fair job and probably made no more errors than any of our recent managers, but I do think we may well need a 'big name' manager to keep and attract the right players.
No CL, no recent trophy success but Spurs still figure as one of the richest clubs in the world and because of the league we play in the biggest underachievers of all the 'big clubs'. If players have a choice they do not choose Spurs (Willian for example) and that's without finances being taken into account. For all of those reasons we need to have a the big star manager who can convince people of a strong future at Spurs.
