Probably been said, and nothing in it,but Sunderlad on Instergram makes up funny memes. So someone on twitter has put "I'm convinced men only want one thing", SL has replied with a yep, and a pic of Sanderson with the scarf over his head when he signed last season. Anyway Samderson has shared it on his Instergram story.
We laugh but it was something like 15 years (guess) before City's first title that they were getting beat off Stockport at home. Its not impossible.
Facebooks going mental. Apparently he's just posted a pic of himself in a Sunderland top holding the scarf up from when he signed last season?? Could he be trying to tell us something or force a move maybe??
You'd think there's something in it, unless he's on a wind up which I doubt he'll know what people are going to think when they see that.
You may argue that but I think if it was a choice he'd chose to stay at Wolves. He didn't have any connection with us but has had a year hear and I think we've gotten under his skin (as has happened with many players previously.) The activity on instagram recently may mean nothing but I wouldn't be surprised to see him back here. Be interesting to see our ambition this summer and by that I don't mean throwing fortunes at it but insteam calibur of player we can get.
Well they won't be offering £50k per week. They could likely pay more than us but I think a players career is more than money (to some anyway) could he develop more than here. Theres the fans, players infastructure and plans for the future. A them or us choice isn't as simple as you'd think. Not that I think there will be a them or us choice.
Never mentioned 50k. He’d likely get 20 at the mags. About a million a year. He’d likely get a max of £250k here. If he’s lucky. No loyalty in football any more. If the mags want him and he goes there. He’ll undoubtedly get my full blessing. Even at the mags
I think the biggest problem people are having is realising how long sanderson was here and when LJ took over. Sanderson wasn't getting a game when he first came but that wasn't down to LJ as he wasn't here. I do believe however that he was only given his chance because of injuries. Before we got the injuries I would have preferred sanderson to have been used at RB and moved O'Nien in to midfield, I think sanderson would have been just as good at RB if not better than O'Nien who I believe would have brought a lot more creativity to the stagnant midfield we had. Its easy to comment after sanderson came in and was probably one of our players of the season, and I'm guilty of this as well, but at the time before the injuries how many people would have changed the CBs around. I would have liked to have seen sanderson partnered with younger though as I know sanderson is just a young lad himself but he looks so comfortable and mature on the ball, but you never know that maybe how we start next season
He played his 1st game and was way above our level imo. LJ then reverted to Wright n Willis who to be fair were also both playing well at the time. I still believe that Sanderson is better than them two though. My only concern if we do get him is Sanderson, Wright, Willis and Xhemalji as 4 centre backs where do Younger & Almond get their chance?
I doubt Willis will be back from injury in thw first half of the season, sure they said he would be a year out. I am not keen on Wright personally, even when he was fit I had my issues with him. Sanderson to me has proven himself better than Wright and probably Willis. I wouldnt be averse to buying Sanderson and selling Wright personally and leaving a space for Younger to earn his place.
That might do for Almond but Younger needs more game time next season Inclined to agree although Wright is an enigma. Prior to the injury he was bloody good.
He used to drive me up the wall when on the ball. He seemed to hit long diagonal balls that only 50% of the time worked. I have a distrust of him because of that. Probably just me being an arse. Defensively he was good when fit for sure and he sensed danger really well. Some of his tactical yellow cards were important. I probably just have a blind spot.
He's on a decent some at wolves as a prem u23 so if it's about money I'm sure he'd stay. No way would he want to join as as no young player has improved and gone onto better things since the waiter took over. I'd say we'd have bigger problems if a leading championship club or likes of Norwich or Brentford came in. They could offer first team football and development. He strikes me as someone who wants to further career not just cash In
Willis will be lucky to play again. Wright had issues last year and xhemalji is also coming back off a year out. There's def a couple of spots you could fill imo.
