Yeah we're close to safety now... I just think the clubs behind us will get results and it might get a bit tight if we don't get the result at Everton
He was our A lister, when we had a squad of Z listers…. But now everyone seems to have woken up (credit Eddie) and started playing as a team and consequently above their individual level…. Max’s quality has leveled out and is visible for what it is. In ‘the old days’ Max was everything we could look forward to and our sole match-turner, but now he looks a bit out of place - not writing him off; I just want his performances to be more team-oriented and be upped by 20%, that way he’ll complement the team rather than throw it off course
…. and Gayle FFS he’s utterly useless. Comes on gets an immediate yellow, thinks that overdoing a challenge represents some kind of passion whereas it just conceded possession when we needed possession. It was a cameo of a player that seems ‘done’.
Anyway. At Christmas I’d lost all optimism. But that win against Southampton represented us staying up - ten points clear of 18th, no games-in-hand-shadow, no realistic prospect of us getting 100% bad results while those below get 100% good results. So this was a bye. bunch of cheats, how can there be video footage and the office staff decide ‘oh yeah, reckon he saw that and just decided nuffink in it, no need to ask for a review….’ - gobsmackingly flagrant favouritism.
I just have this vision of them sitting in a caravan somewhere and having ****ing smoke breaks during game times.
Those questions are never going to go away and we pretty much just have to accept that. While we are all obviously excited by the changes at the club and the investment going into the club, we can't hide from the fact that we are owned by the PIF which have closer links to the Saudi government than Abramovich has to Putin. There are many things about the Saudi regime which are abhorrent when looked at through western eyes. I think any country that carries out the death penalty is brutal and backwards. They are far from the only country that carries out the death penalty but they are the only country we will be asked about. They are also carrying out a war against a neighbouring country, and while that war is very different in that it is fighting against the people who overthrew an elected government, there is an issue with them bombing civilian targets. The fact that they are doing it with British planes and missiles that our country sold to them for that very purpose doesn't mask the fact that it is wrong. It just highlights the hypocrisy of our own government. While this country benefits from Saudi oil and weapons sales it is unlikely that we will find ourselves in the same position as Chelsea. However, we don't know the future and one day we may be in the same position that Chelsea are in now.
Apparently the shirt pull wasn’t enough to bring Murphy down hence no penalty. The knobs clearly are corrupt and making this **** up as the go along
Yeah it went away pretty much already until the invasion recently. These journalists will be going to Qatar and I wish Howe had asked them what their thoughts were on that.
Jesus ****ing wept. A shirt pull is a ****ing foul, as per the rules, which the ref missed. There’s zero excuse, they cheated on behalf of Chelsea. VAR should be scrapped after today, just ****ing bin it off.
