Jsut wondering, as he's so far only been mentioned as a sub - what future do you see for Wilshere? Does he have a place in the team? (I appreciate that this is changing the topic somewhat, but the player's you're buying seem to be leaving less and less place for him.)
I think Wilshere will become a brilliant player and he's got a long Arsenal career ahead of him. But at the moment, he still seems to be struggling with niggling injuries and patchy form. He needs a season without injury to really play his way into this Arsenal team.
Yet another post of mine deleted, further proof that the mods are biased towards blind Wenger loyalists and not those who ask the tough questions. I thought the point of a forum was to encourage debate, not stifle it?
and now my Laugh at Liverpool thread gets closed, yet the laugh at Spurs one gets to stay open, even though spurs fans are generally a good bunch, and the team doesn't do anything worthy of being destroyed in a thread. What's the old saying? Join or die? Looks like i've got no choice but to worship at wenger's altar. **** you.
Jack, Santi, Flamini, Arteta and the Ox unlikely to find themselves in our best XI, says alot about the depth we are likely to have this season. Jack is a bit of an enigma, decent talent, hasn't developed quite in the way we would have hoped but he has suffered several injuries, maybe a run of being injury free he can force his way ahead of others. What's important is rotation and having the quality to bring in so the team isn't weakened, possibility of 60 games a year so chances will come for those who find themselves not first choice....
22 out of 29 people believed, when polled, that we should have looked for a new manager this summer and there are plenty on here who are Arsenal fans that are very critical of Wenger that don't get banned/modded. I put this down to them not acting like sullen teens/drunk drama queens most of the time.
My team: Sheza Gibbs Mert Kos De-bu-CHY Khedira Ramsey Sanchez Ozil Walcott Giroud Subs: New GK, OXO, Cazorla, Podolski, Arteta, new striker (Remy), any defender of Monreal-Vermaelen or a new CB we sign. We are going to have a lot of firepower, look at that bench, Podolski, Cazorla, OXO, Remy, there's no bloody place for Rosicky and Diaby! Damnnnn I also just realised that I COMPLETELY forgot about Wilshere, lol.
Great news and can't wait for him to start playing for us this coming season. I'll be interested in what Wenger has in mind for him. Will he use him as a CF as an alternative to playing Giroud? Also looking forward to an Ozil, Cazorla, Walcott linking up. Exciting stuff!
It's not just that, it's everything. My opinions are dismissed as being those of a "mopey goth" just because i like different music. My honest opinions get shot down all the time for no reason, my posts get deleted regularly for no reason, and worst of all, people question my loyalty to this club. Just because my opinion differs, doesn't mean i don't love this club, else i wouldn't have given up most of my f**ing life to support the lads. This f**ing team gave me depression from all the years of putting up with near-misses, being mocked for not winning stuff etc., yet i never wavered, and you question my loyalty?
Kind of goes with my point earlier. If you're buying a new striker, shouldn't you be looking to replace Giroud rather than getting someone for the bench? Obviously that may be restricted by budget, but I would think ti swas one of the key areas where you could need reinforcements.
I hope Jack gets a good chance to build on the early promise he showed and have an injury-free season for once. He obviously loves the club he's been at for the last 13 years and players with that level of devotion deserve it in return.
Before his leg break Ramsey was ahead of Wilshere, afterwards Wilshere went ahead of Ramsey and now Ramsey is back in pole position
Wilshere had a poor Season but it's clear he has soo much more to give. His touch, balance, control and ability to run with the ball are top class. He will be a great player I'm sure.
I guess it's the problem in having more than one player for each position - when one does as well as Ramsey has in the last 18 months the other has to up his game even more to get in. Ramsey certainly seemed to benefit from the belief Wenger had in him, but if it's a case of either/or then Wilshere might not be afforded the same generosity. Time will tell I suppose.
Wilshere will come good, he too talented not to. As mentioned he just needs an injury free season. Even this season where he was in and out of the team he had some brilliant moments, the wonder goal against Norwich for example. I think the long term future for our midfield is built around Ramsey and Wilshere.
