Oh, please, don't feel sorry for him! He's had a whole team built around him, something he wouldn't get at United, and he knows it. The one thing I sense about Modric is that he's that rare breed of player you find these days, the kind who repays the loyalty of his club and fans by sticking with them, through thick and thin. I can quite understand why that might rankle with you, Gooner. How many of your players do you trust to show that degree of class, integrity and loyalty? Very few, I'll wager.
Try Cesc Fabregas for a start. He has had nearly every European team wanting him since he was 18. This is probaly the first summer where Modric is being talked about with moves to big clubs. Even then you have not had any actual offers for him.
Player in this situation, he can just not sign any contracts, and leave for free at the end of next season.
That does make me laugh Fabregas has been trying to wrangle a move back to Spain for ages. He'd rather sit on Barca's bench as a bit-player than be your captain. That has got to hurt.
So a Spud thinks Spuds will keep ALL of their main players yet Arsenal will sell two of their main players. please log in to view this image
You do talk a lot of ****. Care to actually back that up with any actual evidence? Only last summer, Fabregas went to Wenger for the first time to ask for a move. The six years before he was very loyal to us. Modric has been at Spurs for a grand total of 3 years. Wow, how loyal. Then again with the state of Football it does not suprise me people rave about loyality when players stay at a club for more then 2 years.
No bid has come in for the non creative attacking player yet. Modric has the cutting edge of a spoon.
Not sure where the Spurs guy is getting his Messianic belief in Modric from... All he said was that he was happy at Spurs. He didn't rule out a move to a bigger club like United who would get champions league football every year. It might not happen this season, but if Spurs don't get Champions League football again for a while, I'd bet my bottom dollar that Modric would leave.
No, Wilshire has much more potential. Like how I wouldn't swap Fabregas for Xavi although Xavi is the superior player.
Wilshere is a kid. Modric is 25 years old and has like i said has no end product. The bloke plays as an attacking player in a midfield 2 and he rarely scores or creates. Also he does not control a game as nearly all Spurs games are end to end matches with Spurs playing on the counter.
Wenger has talked about changes in the Summer! Last time I checked it already is Summer and he hasn't done squat! All I hear is Arsenal has put a price on Fabregas, and Nasri is possibly setting his sights elsewhere. Oh excuse me, Wenger did say he was planning to sign some tall players? Do these "tall players" need to have any footballing skills or do they just need to be tall? And what about a goalkeeper? Could be a long season starting in the not too distant future!
No he plays as a CM, it is his role to build their attacks not finish them off. Modric is a link between attack and defense and I think he does it as well as Alonso.
Selling Nasri to United would be the best piece of business you do this summer (but it won't happen). He just doesn't do it when the chips are down. Arsenal need to move away from that and sign players who can adapt to circumstances. I'm a United fan and do NOT want Nasri at all.
I still don't see Wilshire having the class of Modric. His control and passing range are still not as good yet.
we all know that out of the top 4 or even more Arsenal are the lowest wage payers....gone are the days a player stays with a club through loyalty...its all about the money........thats why Nasri is stalling on signing a new contract..could he go to utd and earn 20..30..40..50 grand a week more.....?The premiership one day will implode due to the greediness of the players......one day in the near future a premiership club will go bust due to spirralling transfer fees and wages...............and Nasri?.....if he wanted to stay he would have said something...let him go ....for me he is replaceable.......has one good season for us and then tries to hold the club to ransom......................
Nope it's all about the money and an inflated ego. I just hate players who do this. I hope Arsenal just let him go and spend the money on those who are worth it!
He can go if he doesn't want to be at the club. He has one half decent season and suddenly thinks he's the dogs bollocks.
