Remember our game last season that got abandoned after being 3-1 in front???

Bristol Rovers were left frustrated as their game at Wycombe was abandoned because of a waterlogged pitch with the visitors 3-1 up.

Two terrific strikes by Eliot Richards put Rovers in control but persistent torrential rain during the second half forced referee Andy Davies to call a halt to proceedings after 67 minutes.

Well look what happened on Sunday.....

The League Two fixture between Wycombe and Fleetwood at Adams Park was postponed about 20 minutes before kick-off because of a frozen pitch.

Referee Andy Davies made inspections at 13:30 GMT and 14:00 BST following an overnight frost and wanted more time to assess the surface.

However, a decision to call the game off was made while the two teams were completing their warm-ups.

Coincidence..........?

Now see what was in Wycombes pre match team news...

Wycombe manager Gareth Ainsworth is set to be without top scorer Dean Morgan for the visit of promotion-chasing Fleetwood.

Coincidence..........?

So there was a pitch inspection at 2pm due to this apparently frozen pitch and the ref gave it more time. 40 minutes in fact as 2:40pm he postponed the game. If it was frozen still at 2pm it wouldnt be fit by 2:40pm. Feel sorry for the travelling fans, all the way from Fleetwood!

Shame they dont have undersoil heating!

Wait a minute, they do have undersoil heating but...... Wycombe never used it!!

Coincidence..........?

I can see it now, this same ref and Wycombes H&S officer having a glass of wine having a big chuckle together!

Same old Wycombe - always cheating!!

:)

You've obviously thought it through quite a lot, and I can see where you're coming from. That ref should never be assigned a Wycombe again for one thing. They're making a bit of a habit of this...
