Hi everybody, completely new to posting here. Been keeping updated with all news and your opinions by reading on here, 12 yards and the old 606 and never registered to contribute myself (I guess mainly because my views were already covered so never felt the need to write).
Obviously there has been a lot of talk about transfer targets and how we will cope next season (or does it count as this season now we are in the Premier League section? Yay). I have noticed the main thing that has been causing big discussions is whether we need to be signing young hungry players or proven premiership players. I very much like the way the club is going and feel so far we are doing things right by getting in these players. They could give us the chance of staying up but if the worst happens and we go down they are the sort of players that will firstly stick around (apart from one or two from the team who may get an offer too good to refuse) and secondly should give us a real chance of bouncing back.
If I was asked at the beginning of last year would I take one year in the top flight and then have a strong team the following year....yes we get the money to get rid of our debts, have a good exciting season and also be left with a strong, young team that could get us back. Are we now raising the bar even higher (maybe rightly so because of the constant success over the past two seasons).
Is it worth going down the road of signings we are but have a 'name' in the middle of defence (not talking of Upson before anybody says his name) or would that upset the balance and spirit we have?
Also I think we need a keeper...not a first choice but some strong competition for Ruddy. Would Schmeicel be worth a bid. Not going to be first choice straight away, but again Ruddy would have to work to keep his place so could be a good buy as the fee mentioned doesn't seem to be too high.
Right that's all as I'm going on and on. I reckon Leeds fans will think we are after their whole team if we were to be linked with their keeper too
