I think this sums up how you are getting it fundamentally wrong. Yaya Toure is a totally different type of player to Parker. They are both ball winners, but there the similarity ends. Torre is explosive on the break and THAT IS EXCITING!!
Guys, what defines an exciting player. IMO, an exciting player is somebody who gets you up off your seat. A player that throught his actions raises your heartbeat and expectations. Generally great wingers, attacking central midfielders or good forwards fit into this category. I don't think that Diakite is just a DCM. Nor do i think that he is just a ball winner. There are not too many DCM, or CM in the Prem that can win the ball and then burst forward with spped and power. Yaya Toure is one of these rare rare players. IMO, Diakite is another. At the moment he still is very raw and I hope that us fans don't expect too much of him too soon. He has potential, but can't be described as a top player, YET. As regards exciting players, IMO, we now have three. Adel, Cisse and Diakite.
I'd add Hoillet ( been away, lost track of where we are with him) and Traore if we play him bombing up the wing to Nuts' list. Which makes a very exciting team. Diakite will be a £20m player soon if he continues learning. Outstanding find and buy by Sparky and his team.
And the fact of course that Toure speaks French and English whereas Parker only speaks English but has heard of France.
He is brilliant to watch! He has an amazing change of pace that can beat opposition players very quickly and can pick out a great pass. A superb signing! And for me is very exciting - his massive engine allows him to run the length of the pitch - like the video above shows - and for me that is exciting as he can beat 2 or 3 men with ease!
