Well the best kept secret is finally out, oh you already knew? Two and a half year deal. I guess he will get some stick if we ever play wrexham. https://www.shrewsburytown.com/news/2018/december/sam-ricketts-announced-as-first-team-manager/
Welcome to Shrewsbury Town Mr Ricketts we seem to have gone to both ends of the spectrum, a very experienced lower league manager to a very inexperienced lower league manager, depending on your perspective this can either be seen as an inspired choice or a big gamble . i hope he has enough common sense to not make wholesale changes and that an experienced assistant is either brought with him or appointed by the club.
Welcome Sam. Remember him as a very solid player - lets hope he has good contacts as we badly need a decent striker on loan. This is a bit of a punt from the Chairman but lets not forget our greatest manager of all time GT had no experience when he was appointed and that went well. Especial thanks to the two caretaker managers who have done an absolutely brilliant job over the last few weeks.
I'm sure I speak for other Hull City fans when I wish Sam the best of luck. He gave us some good times, and never offered less than 100% It'll be fair reward for him if he does well for you, which I'd like to think he will.
That's bolloxed the supporters chant though. "You've got xxxxxxxxx but we've got Ricketts" . Somehow doesn't quite sound right does it.

Oddly that link didn't exist anymore, but found the renamed one. https://www.shropshirestar.com/spor...-coach-to-his-shrewsbury-town-backroom-staff/ We do need someone like this, it's more than physical by the looks of things. It's a bit like the chap the Ronnie O'Sullivan had that changed his mindset.
