Then it could come down to the FA. They might insist he takes it on a full time basis. I'm not really keen on sharing our manager, either. I'd want his focus on us and with our players, 24/7.
I'd be absolutely gutted it he left. I feel we're in the best shape as a club that we've been in for years.
We've had supposedly 'better' managers over the years but Allardyce fits the club perfectly. He's a mirror image of SAFC and the supporters ....... a bit rough around the edges but a big heart and irrepressible enthusiasm. I'm already disinterested in the national team but this would make me dislike the whole set up even more. Watching England doing well, under Allardyce, wouldn't be enjoyable for me. There aren't that many managers who would settle in at Sunderland and even fewer who could take the club into the top 10. As the days tick by this is becoming more disruptive to our transfer plans and pre-season. The FA might have months to play with but we need a totally committed manager today.
I pretty much agree with all of this...Allardyce would not get the lickings of a dog if he took the England managers job and he should realise this and make a statement that he is not interested.
