The comments about the fans were a joke, and the sign of a guy not thinking through what he’s saying. Today’s public defenestration of Jonny Williams was spiteful, and doesn’t sit well with me.

Bowyer was hot headed and impulsive as a player. He is showing that as a Manager. Someone should be having a word in Bowyer’s ear. He also owes Williams an apology.

Bowyer must be referring to the tackle that Williams won a free-kick for. That doesn't make sense. When you're 1-0 up surely winning a free-kick is what you want? Jonny Williams now has no future at the club, and LBB has put public shaming of him above winning the game, which we looked like doing. Players will now be doing just enough to get by, rather than winning, if they haven't been doing that already. LBB said players were hiding from the ball before the game, and they were still at it, hence the huge back-passes. How about being brave on the ball? He's got a bit of ground to make up after today.

Yep saw that tackle - he was a bloody coward to be fair , wouldn’t of taken him off but would of given him a bollocking!

Bowyer's post match comments are those of a Manager who is worried about his job and blaming the players

distracts from the fact that we were poor, again. What's the point in flying into tackles getting booked, like Albie, if it pleases the manager but loses the best part of your game, seeing a pass and having a good shot?

Don’t forget that this is the first time in his managerial career that Lee Bowyer is having to live with expectations & pressure.

He had diabolical owners in his first two season- over achieving in the first to get us promotion. Relegation last season was largely met with acceptance by our fanbase because we were under a transfer embargo, and ESI were dragging the club down.

Now LB is working for a proper owner who has backed him, and expects some immediate bang for his bucks. His comments over the last 4 days smack of a man who feels under pressure. I don’t think there’s any doubt that now having so many players to choose from isn’t suiting Bowyer. He couldn’t name his best team if he started yesterday. The constant tinkering is leading to muddled tactics, which in turn is now resulting in ugly and negative football.

Thought we were awfull today, and the 1-0 lead was undeserved (albeit welcome). But the Williams substitutions was daft in itself, and Bowyer's explanation was designed to cause dressing room unrest. He needs Jackson to give him a slsp and get his head back straight. Williams looked fine, and if we're going to make substitutions every time a player does something wrong we'll need a much bigger squad and the option of over 20 changes per match.
It felt more like a loss with the late goal and performance but Bowyer has played a real naff hand with the post match comments. Ipswich feels like an age ago now.

Bowyer put this squad together in the eleventh hour with a wage cap ,he’s stayed loyal when most would of walked so in return I’d like to give him at least a season with the new owner and one transfer window where he’s got time to plan. Calling for him to be sacked is absolutely ridiculous imho

As annoyed as I am, he deserves the entire season - if he fails to make the playoffs then sack him but he has earned that chance in return.

And I'd like to see who he'd go for when given the chance

I wouldn't call for him to be sacked. But this has been a bad two weeks, and Bowyer has his fair share of blame. And this not the first time he's washed the dirty laundry with the players in public. Injuries and a small unbalanced squad are things beyond the control of the manager after the summer we've had, but taking Williams off after 20 minutes was a bit of wretched man management, and as a former player Bowyer should realise how badly that sat. A bit of squad bonding would be a better option.

I'll never call for him to be sacked, but I was reminded of when Andy Nelson slated Arthur Shipperley after the 5-5. Shocked then,.Shocked now.

That’s what the Welsh scout (sea) is calling for over on ittv - but then the “Ream’s Rant” thread is always more predictable than Bowyers team sheet <laugh>

Dave's nickname was Arthur. No idea why but that's what we called him. I was particularly gobsmacked because he was the only decent defender in that game, and scored a goal to boot, so to pick up the paper next day and read Nelson having a tirade against him did my head in. I can't remember a Charlton manager doing anything like that until today.

Have you seen who the Welsh Wazzock wants as our next manager - Michael Laudrup <laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh><laugh>

    Beyond clueless, just embarrassing.

Why not Max Allegr,i or Pochettino ?

What does Laudrup know about League 1 football in England, including the teams & opposition players at that level ? Who’s going to pay the seven figure salary that he would demand - the Wrexham milkman might have to start buying tickets finally to help pay his wages.

And as for Bowyer, how typical of Reams to jump on a bandwagon that has barely got one wheel on it.
