I thought he was signalling to klich to go out wide to Clarke’s position but was watching on my Mac so not a big screen. If anyone went maybe they can tell us.
Don't think he can play on that date anyway, I've got him fixing a new light in the spare room. After 4 or so years on £2.50 a week he needs the cash.
Just a thought. Miazek on the bench not the French keeper so maybe right last week about Nketiah left out as only five loanees allowed in a match day squad.
Positives We beat a lower league team We're in the next round Clinical finishing Clean sheet Pace in our attack Kalvin Phillips outstanding, ran the show from the middle of the park Ben White impressive once again Debut goal for Eddie, a unusual pocaher goal for us Klich wonderful goal Shackleton's pass to Costa & cross for Nketiah's goal 2 assists for Costa. Goal for Berardi & no one ran on the pitch Kiko made some good saves, dominates his area but fans still don't like him Davis looks better than Douglas & Alioski defensively 4 academy players playing Alfie McCalmont debut I predicted 3-0 with Nketiah & Klich to score please log in to view this image Negatives Still look shaky when balls are pumped into our box Anywhere else on the pitch the foul on Harrison would have been given Referees still don't like giving us penalties Clarke still not back to his best Apart from a couple of crosses/passes Alioski was poor. No doubt Forshaw will return v Wigan Savile chants please log in to view this image some of the worse chants imaginable last night Ratings 8 Kiko 7 Berardi 9 White 8 Davis 5 Alioski 9.5 Phillips (MOTM) 8 Costa 8 Klich 8 Shackleton 6 Clarke 8 Nketiah Subs 7 McCalmont 6 Harrison 6 Bamford
Agree with all that. Hard to see what Spuds saw in Clarke to pay 10m but heyho. The Saville chants are disgusting and despicable and any moron involved is exactly that, a moron and I don't care what effing team they support
Its banter Eire. Not nice maybe, but banter just the same. Soon we won't be able to say. sing or have an atmosphere. If supporters don't want to sing those songs then supporters don't have to. The world we live in today is becoming so pre occupied on not hurting the sensitivities of the snowflake generation that its embarrassing. From the sky commentators apologising for swear words to the news giving warning that the following item may upset people and before you and anyone else starts taking the high moral ground with me, I do realise that Saville was a despicable human being and that there are many victims out there who suffered at his hands AND IN no way Im I supporting what that monster did.
I understand the sentiment, Shaks, but what if they had been doing the Turkey chants/songs? Still feel the same?
And thats your right to think like that... I was just giving my opinion on the subject. I just worry about future generations and how they cope with any negative stuff that is said and done in the future. Football used to be a place where you could go and relax and release any pent up aggression or feelings.
There were a few individual comments regarding that. Personally WJ, if we dish it out, we have to expect to take it. If we do it better than the opposition fans well all the more sweeter. I'd rather someone chanting words at me than getting a stanley blade across my face.
I wasn't just talking about a certain chant, I'm talking about life in general and how we have to pre apologise for every action or comment so as not to upset people.
But what if the 'we' that dishes it out is a small percentage? Why should the majority have to 'expect it' because of the unthinking minority? I speak as a guilty party, I might add. I used to sing the 'dying in the snow' song with everyone else. Right up until it nearly happened to us. Remember that? Brought everything into sharp focus. I used to tell myself it was ok as I loved seeing scum fans reacting & being frogmarched round the pitch by the cops. And I loved it. Only after our close call did I think it through. Bad enough telling my kids that our team almost got fried, but imagine telling your kids that it actually happened & most of the team actually died! No, some things should remain unsaid (or unsung).
Well the so called majority should grow a back bone and tell the so called minority to stop. As time goes by WJ I get more and more desensitised to what happens in the world. Granted if certain events had happened closer to home well I'd obviously have a differing opinion on things. But(and I may be slaughtered for saying this) near misses, footballers suicides, airplane crashes etc etc don't impact on my life.
But they weren't and that's where the line was drawn, no different to banter given out on here, many times, on the line and often crossing it.
