it almost sickens me that roddy frame wrote the "high land hard rain " album when he was about sixteen
As happy as I am that more people are picking up Geeetaarrs the dearth of decent bands around at the moment proves that they haven't bothered to learn how to play them. Arctic Monkeys look like they haven't been able to crack the demo on Guitar Hero! And before anyone gets snide about the guitar think for a moment about the players and bands over the last 100 years. Add your own but have a go at these, Muddy Waters, Leadbelly, BB King, Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley (he even had a square guitar!) Albert King, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton...... Elvis, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Led Zep, The Who, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple....and chuck in any others from your own list, these were off the top of my head. Not all were brilliant players but the skyscraper that is ROCK was built on their foundations. The fact that we are listening to the music created before we were born shows that it is class. As much as I like a lot of modern non-guitar music I don't think I will be listening to it in 30yrs time. Turn it up to 11, throw the horns, and become a legend. Even if it is only in your bedroom!!
