Salah did what he did out of desperation knowing nothing was coming for us. James dropped and rolled about then was up in an instant when robertson got away with a little body check. James clipped kabak with a high boot then dropped and the ref warned kabak. everyone dives and rolls about now. no one side is innocent of it. We have mane who is just as naughty as anyone and just as likely to flop over. the rythmn of a game will often dictate what a ref sees imo. There was no way mane or salah were getting a free cheaply or a pen at all cos the ref will be looking more for is it a dive than is it a pen. Its often easier IMO to blow up for a pen when a side is dominating that when a side is chasing a game. Anyway, the sole chances fell to firmino who was rubbish on the day. we could have been there til midnight and not got salah in the box.
the problem is that this seems to be pretty common throughout the season (or at least for the past 1-2 months). Why is Bobby the one having most of the chances / Salah in the box? Is this a system change? Is it just purely coincidental? One thing is for sure, we cannot keep letting our worst finisher have all of our best chances. I will reiterate again until I go blue in the face - Salah is our best goal scorer but his goal scoring is based on shot volume - i.e. give him 4-6 shots a game and he will score. At the moment, hes getting around 1-2 shots a game.
Raheem Sterling; “I remember Suárez got a swollen ankle. For anyone else they'd be like, 'Nope, definitely not my day'. Suárez persisted and played. His ankle looked like a ball and he had to put on Gerrard's boots that were two sizes too big. He then scored a hattrick.”
I believe it goes along the lines of. "I remember on a particularly windy day, Sturidge put his toe outside the door and turned straight back around and headed to the treatment room. He was injured for the next 3 weeks."
