The ECHO understands that Sakho's defence questioned whether the substance he had taken should even be on the prohibited list - leading to UEFA ordering their own disciplinary body to first investigate whether the substance should even be on the WADA list.
Yes but Sakho WAS guilty of taking that exact substance - the question now is is that substance actually illegal? Taking a second sample would have still found that same drug. Wouldn't have made a difference.
I think the main issue is the urgency within authorities again. This could have been done in a day or two, why drag it out over a month meaning the players not only missed games but key granges that could have seen a trophy triumph too? (I don't think Sakho would have made any difference in the final, we were totally ****e)
I agree - now UEFA have delayed their hearing because they're carrying out internal investigations to see if the substance is banned in the first place.
Let's be honest, having Sakho in defence wouldn't have made us win. Our 2 CBs were our best players, was midfield and left back that cost us. Good od news if true in that he'll be available for start of next season though.
Lovren was **** but Kolo was good. However what we really missed was Sakho's passing from the back. Our defence played the ball amongst themselves for most of the game. I agree it wouldn't have made much of a difference - but this is football. Anything could have happened. Now if this true, then I hope Sakho takes UEFA to the cleaners. I'm not a scientist but surely it should be simple To determine if the pills contained a banned substance or not?
That ****ing stinks so given a month ban so misses a Europa final but now ok to play for France who don't even pay his ****ing wages. What a ****ing joke Don't even know if he should have been banned any way !!!!!!!
Sakho would certainly have started the final being our best CB. Would it have changed the outcome? Who knows. What we can say is Sakho has been covering Moreno's 'shortcomings' all season, so maybe things would have turned out differently, who can say. If this story is correct this is a mother ****ing mess on UEFA's part (again)
Well said. Has everyone else blanked that second half from their brains???? Would sahko and the techno frogs have stopped moreno jumping over the ball and letting go them waltz in...... Would sahko stop the midfield imploding.. coutinho and lallana bottling it? Would seriously shako be better than toure... Would sahko have stopped Mingolet glueing himself to the line? The answers are no. Toure was excellent in both second leg semi and the final. The ball went over his head on 93mins in villareal away game... That's it.. no other mistakes.. Come on guys...it's nobody's fault but our own.
