If only each team could have a player sent off in the first half to make things easier for him. Oh hang on.......
He could have rotated his side and brought in, say, 6 different players. Who did that again? I was surprised when I saw they had only made two changes
Following on from Tuchel, Klopp and Co. Apparently the PL are to blame. Apparently they don't care about player safety. Yet last time I checked, every club is allowed to name 25 players. Not just 11. If a manager chooses to start a player twice in 44 hours, that is his decision. Don't start pointing fingers at others.
I’d love to know who, exactly, you think, would make a better manager with this squad of players and very little funding. Care to enlighten me, please? I have a fair bit of time on my hands over the next five weeks, so I’d love to do some research to see who might be able to take our club higher, given the obvious lack of resources. Cheers
I'm guessing a decision probably won't be made until Saturday (or maybe even Sunday). By which time we'll have a better idea of whether we could benefit from it being called off or not. If we have to put out a defence missing Tino, Lyanco and Stephens, in addition to Salisu and KWP, then that would be problematic. Especially if ASM is fit. But equally, if even just one was to be available for us, and ASM isn't fit for them, then a slightly makeshift back line I would back to take on Gayle and Murphy.
Once thing I noticed today is how much I love Shane Long. He seems such a great character. Watching on TV you get to see his banter with the ref and linesman and the other players - always with a cheeky smile. At one point he was flagged offside and was gesturing with his fingers to the ref whist saying "oh come on ref an inch if you're lucky" Just love Shane,
In fairness, not sure any of those ten saves were particularly ones to make you think “wow”. Solid though, all the same.
Poor Newcastle have got ouchy players. Really don’t care about their injuries. That’s football. And whatever Covid stuff they have/making up, they should still be able to put a team out come Sunday.
Every club is playing the game a bit with this I think. I don't really blame Newcastle for taking advantage of the situation as it is.
