OK. That is a fantastic result. Yeah we had a bit of luck. But they left everything on that pitch. Proud
Forster, Bednarek, Valery, JWP, Diallo, both Armstrongs, and Long all put in one hell of a shift today. Hard to choose between Fraser and JWP for MOTM, but James’ goal was something special.
Fantastic defensive performance in the 2nd half. Full of discipline and hard work. They really deserved the win. They were the best team until the sending off and didn't allow Spurs a look in afterwards.
Clearly they have been working on that. It's not an easy thing to do - defend without contact. No tackles, just blocks. It requires immense discipline.
Big up to the squad players who stepped up. Valery didn’t put a foot wrong. Diallo’s pressing and ball retention in midfield were vital. Shane bloody long playing 70 mins in the Prem in 2021. Huge point.
Yes - when the team was announced I was going to write in saying : “This is showing squad gaps I wasn’t already aware of. Shane Long and Yann Valery should he noway near the team , let alone the bench” Proven very wrong on Valery to say the least. I’d say quite embarrassing for Harry Kane to be honest
Par for the course. Today I foolishly listened to the BBC podcast for Boxing Day fixtures whilst driving. I think the only mention of us from our match was in the announcement of the score. Was ALL West Ham talk
Going down to 10 might have helped us in the end. Their main strength against us in the past has been Son running in behind which couldn’t happen with us defending so deep
Wow!! What a point, must feel like a win! Every player played their part superbly. JWP was great, as was KWP and Forster but I'd give MOTM to Valery who stepped into a position he doesn't play with the team down to 10 men on his first start in ages! Hard to watch for the most part but they survived and a really great point! Our home really is a Fortress!
Forster was excellent today except for one dodgy moment which he got away with. Walker Peters put his body on the line.
Matt Holland trying to sell JWP. Quality punditry. Not able to mention the quality of a player without mentioning he should/could be somewhere else.
Everyone played their part in that but special shout out to Yan Valery. I thought he was outstanding given the circumstances. He's not exactly tall and muscular so to hold his own at CB, superb.
Difficult to get a point when it’s 11 against 12, but to get one when it’s 10 against 12 is quite stunning. I thought Kane was onside, so didn’t expect VAR to save us. The second disallowed goal was, imo, a foul. Doherty wasn’t even looking at the ball because he had his back to Forster when contact was made, therefore in my book he was just trying to interfere with the keeper. Shoulder to shoulder I would have said no foul.
