Yeah, Ralben Hasenselles combined for 20 points in 20 matches. Not great, but not terrible either. Outside of our detour into the Jones Zone this is a thoroughly mediocre side that would have every chance to survive. Issue now is that we need to find 14ish points in 10. Doable, but definitely not easy.
I thought AMN was excellent at CB and his pace is massive asset. Kate tried to bully him in a footrace and I thought he dealt with him excellently. He played well at CB for us before too.
3 goals 19 shots 7 on target Against the team 4th in the Premier league Who are these imposters? To be fair, they stood up to be counted and showed fighting spirit. That's all I want to see. Now if we can do that consistently for the remaining games, who knows what we can achieve.
Still can’t get fully hyped given the position we are in, but some fight at last. Excellent really given we lost both CBs in the first 30 mins and came back from behind twice and late. Walcott man of the match, where have these performances been all this time? Just a shame about the Brentford game that means this point and the Old Trafford point aren’t really enough for now, despite being well earned.
Whether we go down or stay up we are fighting, and that's all you can ask for. Sadly it isn't Selles fault, we can just take it one game at a time.
Great fightback but still a lot of work to do. Games against West Ham and Palace are must win. If Saints play like today against them they will win be in with a big shout of staying up but if they play them like against Brentford they will probably get relegated. The good news is that there are more better performances now than bad ones.
Looking at the table it's amazing, considering how **** we have been at times, that we still have a chance to get out of this. Our form is better than some of the bottom 9 , hopefully this gives us confidence for the final run in.
I don’t want to knock him because it’s not his fault that he was playing there, but, he didn’t even jump for Kane’s goal. And the third goal he was beaten to the header that assisted Perisic.
It is a good point against a top 4 side, no more but what Saints do next will say how much of a good point it is. What is important are the performances. Today has shown how much fight Saints have in them and Selles is learning which players in particular are up for the fight.
That is now our new insurance policy, your last three words describe the quality needed and it looks like Selles is getting responses where previously no one managed to do for a long time. Gradual but definitely progress.
Good result, good fightback, and a performance that deserved something from the match. Much like the Man Utd match, as a match/result in isolation I'm very happy. But not for a second do I think it will change anything. We beat Chelsea; we followed it with that limp goalless performance vs Leeds. We draw Utd away; we follow it with that limp goalless performance vs Brentford. And that's just in the past few weeks. You could go back months, years in fact, and find a number of other examples. I have zero faith that West Ham up next will be anything different. I would love to be wrong, I pray that I am. Great to see that Che was actually in the box for that cross at the start of the second half. He'd pretty much spent the entire first half hanging out on the left wing despite, you know, being our main striker...
