Hope they sign lots of good players and piss off the top 6, things need a shake up as the league is boring as **** and has been for a few years now
It will be interesting to see who they sign and if they all sign contracts that allow them to move on in the event of relegation. There might also be some who string out the transfer to the end of the window, to see who else signs and if Newcastle are showing signs of recovery. And, as good as Eddie Howe was for Bournemouth, his isn’t a name that will get players scrambling to join the club, which is where the big money will be needed.
Yep, i've got no axe to grind with the Toon apart from this postponement. Rather them win the league in the future than the Scousers and Spuds and they do have great fans on the whole.
Snap. I’d rather the porno brothers won the league with West Ham, than that lot. Nothing to do with the Toon or the fans.
The only satisfaction I am getting from the takeover is when Newcastle score first and that Staveley woman and clan are jumping up and down and then the glum look on their faces at the final whistle
Nah good luck to them. Another club upsetting the big boys can only be a good thing for the league. I don't even really blame them for this as it's ultimately the fault of the league that this situation has been allowed to develop. They've granted these postponements and set the precedent for them to be called off seemingly based on word of mouth. Newcastle aren't the first team to do it and are by no means the ones gaming it the most either imo, people are just finding this one harder to take because of the unique situation with the Saudi dosh. It's also worth pointing out that we would almost certainly be doing the same thing in their situation. In fact, we still may do so.
What, you mean like Man City have been doing since 2008? They certainly weren’t one of the “big boys” before Mansour bought them.
To mix things up at the top. It’s not going to ever be us unless some multi billionaire decides he wants to buy us. The way it’s going over half the league have multi billionaire owners/investors so we really are operating in a different league financially to majority of teams
Not sure what you mean? My point is it's wonderful to see all the boiled piss City and Chrlsea have caused amongst United, Liverpool and Arsenal fans and I'm looking forward to seeing more of it.
Why not? It doesn't affect us and if it upsets the super league crew then I'm all for it. Hopefully they'll relegate one of the NL clubs to midtable permanently. Really don't see why it's a bad thing. Freshening up at the top of good, no?
One just replaces the other. City are the new Utd who were the new Liverpool. Teams doing a Leicester are exciting. Or going back to the 80’s when Forest went from L2 to European champions.
Newcastle we’re our lower mid-table rivals and you’re suggesting they jump over us and compete for top 6. How can this be positive for us in any way? It just pushes us one place lower, closer to relegation. If we want a team to challenge the big 6 it has to be a team above us, Leicester, West Ham, Everton etc.
That'd be a shame I wasn't really talking about from our point of view anyway but that of the whole league. And having another side upset the 'big 6' can only be a good thing in my book. There's no point discussing the impact on us imo as it's minimal (one less team at bottom long term) and there's nothing that can be done with it.
