Several times, it has crossed my mind that Saints are actually playing no better, and in certain ways worse, than back earlier in the season, before the additions of Tadanari Lee and Billy Sharp. They gave us extra options, not improvements. The quality has been there for a season or so. Inevitably, incoming strikers are going to be compared to the master finisher, Rickie Lambert, and that's a bit unfair on them, but they don't offer his all round game either. So when Adkins asks Sharp or Chung [when he was fit to play] to play some of the role that Lambert, or indeed another Saints player formerly played, they don't necessarily play it better, and consequently Saints might have had to change themselves to accommodate their own game. Does it make Saints play better in the overall sense..? I'm not at all sure, but it looks as if we don't have to keep relying on Rickie to bang goals in. I noticed he got another assist yesterday though. Saints have to learn how to play every bit as well without Rickie being in the side as they do when he plays. That's a tall order when you're temporarily replacing the best player in the league.

    Hello Bendy!

I have just woken from my drunken weekend slump!

Nothing more will I ever say against Sharp now 2 goals against Pompey = immediate legend. :)

Of course I will still say if I think he's had a bad game the same as with any other player!

Scoring goals does wonders for strike rate. What we don't want (as Merrington would say) would be for one of our few remaining strikers to hit a dry spell and lose confidence.

I certainly hope so Chaps I am gutted I couldn't get a ticket for todays game but I had already budgeted for Saints v Reading including a hotel over night and maybe a visit to the strip bar <laugh>.

Then and although I can't complain I had a winning football acca up on Saturday netting me £287 for a tenner! But to late and can't get a ticket for love or money!

But I will settle for listening on 5live sports extra 3 points another goal from billy and a few celebratory pints! <ok>
