Not really. It's competitive, but that's because most of the teams are ****. We really have to be blowing teams out of the water with the players we have.

Rome wasn't built in a day. If you really thought we'd be blowing teams away early this season, after recovering from last season and bedding in new players and a new style of play, then that's on you. Some of us are a tad more realistic.

Good performances all round. Adarma and Charles both excellent. Quarshie really solid. Edwards great.

Sat too deep after we scored, was asking for trouble. Also Stewart looked knackered second half, should have come off earlier.

Their goal came from Scienza not f*cking pressing the CB. Does my head in when players just jog around five yards in front of their back line.

I expected a damn sight more than 1 win in 7. Martin managed 10 out 12 points before a rough September. 7 points from a possible 21 is relegation form. It's a completely unacceptable return and anything less than 6 points from the next 2 games is not good enough either.

I agree. I expected better too, but blowing teams out the water? Be reasonable.

RM was picking up from a less awful relegation season and had a better set of PL rejects about to leave to work with in those first games.

For me it’s frustrating but not unacceptable as a start. The Hull game is the only one I really think we dropped the ball on but I’m quite prepared to not overreact to one game

Our budget blows the vast majority of the other teams out of the water, so we really should be comfortably beating most of them. I maintain a lot of the teams are crap in comparison to us.

And after he swapped our prem players for their replacements we were crap for 4 games. It isn’t easy.

You know nothing about any of the other teams, and you massively overrate our players.

Well I'm not prepared to accept midtable mediocrity like most of our fanbase seems to be. Anything less than reaching the play offs is an abject failure.

It’s not FM. Each game is more than just numbers on a spreadsheet.

The players take time to gel and learn a system. The Stoke game was a perfect illustration of a team who knew their system inside out and used it to exploit our lack of familiarity.

If you want to blow teams out the water, go play FM with edit mode to increase the Saints player ratings or play FIFA on easy mode.

Mate, you’re a plastic. You’ve headed off to Ireland to watch nfl over Southampton.

    Says it all <whistle>

Agree with that. But there’s a long way to go. Based on today, top six is easily manageable.

How many goals did Armstrong score last time we were in the Championship? How many goal contributions did Azaz have last season for Boro? How many assist did Fellows get last season? Shea Charles was young player of the season last year. Overestimate our players? No I'm ****ing not.

All in vastly different teams. Do you not think it'll take time to gel? Once it clicks, it'll be great, I'm sure, but that's not going to happen overnight.
