I would entirely agree with you that Wenger brought about a sea-change in football management and training and his early teams played beautiful football, backed up by a steely defence that enabled the forwards and attacking midfielders to play with more freedom. I also agree with you that other clubs learned from his example and, in time, supplanted him. Sadly, he became the proverbial dinosaur in his own time. Ferguson recognised the risk of going stale and would replace his assistant coach every fews years to keep things fresh.
