Barnes tackle on Clyns that was 2 minutes late?

A word would have sufficed - wasn't a dirty game.

A record was broken yesterday. I've mentioned before that the seats next to me are free.

Guy yesterday arrived 11 mins after kick off. Signalled to his mate in the row in front that they should go down for a pint at... 35 mins! His mate said "not yet" so unfortunately they saw the goal. They went down immediately after.

Back up just a minute late after half time, then left at 78 mins.

So, they saw 27 minutes of the first half and 32 mins of the second. Yesterday's game was 98 minutes long, so they saw 60% of the game. Why not miss out the football and have another £40 to spend on beer?

I always wondered why the refreshment area is so busy during the game (I have only needed the loo on rare occasions) so I guess these guys are not the only ones or "guests" are let in after the game for a crafty pint and watch on the overhead TVs

That doesn't matter. Yellow cards are not issued because a game is dirty, they are issued if a tackle is bad (amongst other things). That tackle was bad and late. if you say this Tom, then I'm beginning to think refs are taught to be inconsistent.

Similar to a lot a t20 cricket on the Rose Bowl these days, now a lot of matches are scheduled for Friday nights. I have nothing against lads going out for a night out; nothing at all. But why waste £20 odd each on a match ticket? Just forgo the cricket and have another £20 odd in your pocket to spend on alcohol. Half of them clearly have no interest in the cricket itself.

Fonte tripped Boyd. It was unintentional, but still a trip. If you catch someone's foot with your weight behind at the moment that person is moving forward, they will lose balance. Even if it's just stepping on a toe.

Barnes tackle could have been a yellow. Or not. Could go either way. If the game has been played cleanly and the foul wasn't intentional and you already played advantage, I could see letting it slide.

I still have no idea where the intentional arm to Long's face happened. Unless it was when Shackell ran into him in which case his arm was not raised nor did it go out, he hit him with his shoulder.

Basically, (as someone said earlier) it was an easy game to officiate as both sides played clean and didn't harass the officials. Every game should be like this, /I think you guys are being awfully nitpicky if you are complaining.

And probably the best shout for a missed call was Fonte's foul on Boyd so Saints were hardly shortchanged.

While I'm at it Pelle didn't play any different this game than he has been. His pass completion rate was 60%. He played a long pass to Mane in the first half that was pretty much exactly the same pass he took stick for last game. He also tried to score off a backheel...twice.

In my younger days and still occasionally now I find myself doing things which are thinly veiled excuses for a piss up

Usually you find at least one of you in a group of mates wants to go to the cricket or whatever it might be and are genuinely interested and then the rest have either a passing interest or are just there because that's where your mates are and it's better than sitting at home.

It's when you find yourself on a golf weekend that you realise that perhaps it's gone too far

I think he also brings a lot to the team off the pitch and I think he is probably a safer bet than having someone new at this point in the season.

Notice that Nigel tweets and talks about SFC now. Guess it's because:

    1. Loves Saints
    2. Nicola has left
    3. He has time on his hands :(

Don't we also have the record for having had the least number of shots conceded or some such thing? Which is going to help.

Would love to see him attend a game at SMS as he would get a brilliant reception as he is still loved by the fans
