I was always unhappy with how quickly Kelvin Davis was replaced by Boruc in our first season up.. Loads of defensive errors and he kind of got stuck with the blame. F-Forster is an entirely other league of keeper, but I really hope KD gets some game-time before his career wraps up in the coming seasons.
We look dangerous and should have scored more. Burnley have looked dangerous and should have scored more. This could easily be 2-2. We need to tighten up at the back, whether that means bringing Big Vic on, changing to 3 CB's or just getting the team to sharpen up defensively. Just don't want to sacrifice our attacking edge. Burnely have nothing to lose now in this second half, we will have openings, we just need to be more clinical in front of goal.
The BBC has described Pelle as a giraffe on roller skates and a rhino! As they say "what animal are you?"
Enjoying this. Think we can add to our tally, but obviously need to sure up at the back a bit. Pelle with a screamer!
We can't rely on SKD having "new player syndrome" (okay, I just made that up, but you know what I mean) the whole of the game (season?) Confident we'll bang in another though.
Great stuff from Burnley so far, really impressed - would feel really sorry for them against any other team! Not so impressed with those who apparently have gone to the game with the sole intention of moaning and groaning whenever Pelle loses the ball, that's exactly what you should do to help a striker who is hugely devoid of confidence, great support of the team. Baffles me that people are either so wantonly undermining a team they are meant to support, are unable to control their emotions or are ignorant to the effect of a crowd on players. If anyone wants to see what a crowd can do to help a player, watch the Millwall game earlier in the season, Pelle had a torrid time missing about 5 efforts, but the fans were with him the whole game chanting his name, he stopped several times to applaud them and then scored late in the goal and celebrated with immense relief in front of the fans. Now what happens when something goes wrong? He doesn't get encouragement and support to lift him, he gets a chorus of groans and his head just drops every time. Just can't understand it.
I'm not sure about that - when a bloke gets paid more in a week than I do in 2 years to kick a ball between 2 sticks I think it's his job to make me happy, not the other way round!
I think people have started believing they had the player they feared we'd bought (the Dan/Joe version of Pelle) - everyone was ready to not like him when we got him. That residual feeling still exists unfortunately so people are on his back. As you say, completely daft.
True enough, but I guess it's kind of the distinction between fan and supporter. If you're a fan and you go there purely for your own enjoyment, fair enough do whatever you want. But if you claim to be a supporter and then don't support players when they need it and actively undermine them then quite simply you are an idiot for me.
