Saturday 11th February 2023 Southampton v Wolverhampton 15:00

Referee: Jarred Gillett.
Assistants:
Simon Long, Dan Robathan.
Fourth official:
David Webb.
VAR: Paul Tierney.
Assistant VAR:
Constantine Hatzidakis.

I will be there, anyone else bothering?

The owners have, like this government, kicked the can down the road so let us just hope our players can kick the effing ball in the net.

I am torn as to whether I even want to go if the owners are willing to be so dismissive of the fans views.

I will be there but as is usual nowadays my excitement is all about what I’m going to order off the magnificent Diego’s menu (Bedford Place) pre match

As already mentioned in the Sulemana thread, I would go with Onuachu up front with Edozie and Sulemana either side, Alcaraz just behind with JWP and Lavia at the base.

Perraud left, KWP/Bree(depending on fitness of KWP) right with DCC and Salisu/ABK in the centre.

McCarthy in goal.

I would give this team as long a run as I could with a few tweaks here and there but not wholesale changes.

Onuachu
Edozie Sulemana
Alcaraz
Lavia JWP
Perraud Salisu/ABK DCC KWP/Bree
McCarthy

Fully expecting an easy home win. What we have seen until now hasn't been NJ set up. So we will now see a team, styled by one of Europe's finest, unleashed on an unsuspecting Wolves side.

We will overwhelm them with Jones' famous aggressive and front-footed football and us fans will soon realise we have been wrong all this time and sing his name from the stands.

Home win. 3-0.

Jones doesn't even need to do anything, Just put our BEST team on the pitch, We'd do a hell of a lot better than before. Square pegs in square holes.

His job is ultimately define a style of play... Which after 4 months has never happened. Laughable how the board just ignore this.
Oh yeah, and MANAGE the game whilst it's being played.

Reasons to be cheerful, one two three…

…erm.

The last game at St Mary’s, we won.
Which proves we can win at home.
If we win on Saturday we get three points.

And if we lose, I’m sure we’ll all bear the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune with dignity, like grown ups.

What’s that smell? It’s piss, isn’t it?

Good solid team with an actual midfield, energy, skill and a focal point.

We definitely need to start with a forward-thinking, confident 11. People that are used to winning and are not tarnished by the Saints losing mentality. For me, that means the following team (similar to lewebster):

Bazunu
Bree/DCC/Salisu/Perraud
Lavia/JWP
Alcaraz
Edozie/Sulemana
Onuachu

Apart from Salisu/Bazunu they are all new and/or in some sort of good form. Let's get at Wolves from the off!
