I never did get that nonsense with Jimmy, half the problem was a lot of the players around him didn't have his footballing brain, so often were in the wrong place to receive his passes.
I thought there were some problems at the Chapel end as the queues were much longer than anywhere else and some swearing could be heard about 'progress'.
I think you'll find that with most supporters sitting in The Chapel End, 'progress' in any form is seen as dangerous. They were quite vociferous about using the wheel, and when steam engines arrived they nearly rose up. Nearly.
Back home now - thoroughly enjoyed being back at SMS. Plenty positives for Saints. The Salisu/Stephens partnership was very good, and the much lauded Antonio didn`t get anything out of them. Options in all positions now, and we`re a faster team all of a sudden. We should have won the game. Biggest conundrum for me is how to get KWP in the team, as he is too good for the bench.
Looked strangely empty, but I only had the blink and you’ll miss it highlights from Saturday nights ‘Ronaldo of the Day’ to judge it by. I think the BBC were wise not to have their cameras showing any of the pundits below waist level, as their excitement will have been too difficult to hide.
My first home game in over 8 years and as a ST Holder too! Great weather, sitting outside the White Star beforehand having a few pints (coming from Saudi, you will appreciate how much this meant to me). Enjoyed the game immensely. Comments: 1. The band seemed slightly out of tune; 2. Ralph needs some fashion advice; 3. If Saints want to play one striker, it should be Broja, as Armstrong looks the type of striker who plays better of another striker. Broja is a starter for me. 4. Centre back pairing looks solid, they worked for each other well; 5. Am not a huge fan of Moussa, but he did okay, did not expect much from Ely or Redmond, they met my low expectations; 6. Full backs both did well, Tino looks an absolute steal! 7. JWP was quiet, is he fully fit? 8. Pleased we played conservatively and not Ralph's usual high press, which l think that would have cost us the game, so well done RH; 9. Ref favoured WHU, which was disapointing.
Great to have you there RS. Agree also 100% with 1-8 & a touch with 9. Amazes me that “we”, have similar views but doesn’t seem to translate to forward management views!?
