Based on his one start, two sub appearances and international performances + N’Lundulu not even getting a start at Lincoln and being utterly ineffective as a sub last year vs 8 minutes of Edouard (although at the time of the comment only 2 minutes) - no, not as much of a knee jerk. My comment had a bit more behind it in my opinion at least I see what you were trying to do though
Anyone know when Saints normally publish their attendances? Curious to see what they state today's as.
Good summary, thought the centre backs were excellent and did not give Antonio a sniff. Broja looks a player!
Hellish gappy today, 27-28k at a guess. Honestly the club deserve some **** attendances, might wake them up to the fact that they need to get their act together. I won’t hold my breath on that one though.
That was his first clean sheet since Dec 2020 (ironically the 0-0 Draw against WHU). Forster has had 3 since then.
Pleased with the clean sheet and overall defensive display with Jack and Salisu starting to form a decent partnership. Our attacking performance however was very frustrating to watch until the last 15 minutes and I don't recall ever seeing so many poor passes and decision making in the oppo's half as we had today. Early impressions of Adam is that he doesn't have the quality or football brain of Danny Ings but works better with Che alongside him and we missed the latter's intelligent link up play today. I think that Alex's confidence is returning and Diallo did a very good job replacing Oriol in the second half. Ultimately it is a decent point won against a tough team to beat (for us anyway!) but I would expect to see us be a bit more adventurous against the lesser teams at home.
Yep, based on just that cameo he is easily our best striker. He looked strong, quick and great with the ball at his feet. Could have been a one off, need more time to judge, but I’d be playing him now. He did things in 10 minutes that I’ve not seen our other strikers do in many games. Excited to see more of him
Our defensive performance was very good. Salisu had Antonio in his pocket first half so he moved over to try and get at Stephens second half and he went straight into Stephens pocket. No easy task to keep him quiet when he’s on form. Our best attacking players were Perraud and Livramento. Wish Djenepo had used Perrauds overlaps far more as he put in some dangerous crosses. Redmond and Ely were anonymous for most of the game and Armstrong was so isolated that he became anonymous too. Our attacking play was so disjointed, looked like they’d never played together before. Really poor, so good job our defence held firm. West Ham were surprisingly limp, but the way we played defensively had a hand in that I’m sure. Djenepo was his usual frustrating self, but still far better than Redmond and Ely as he was getting stuck in and trying to make things happen. Even if his execution and decision making in the final third were awful, he put in a massive shift defensively and was throwing his body on the line, taking hits and getting straight up and charging down the ball again. JWP looks off the pace still too which isn’t helping. No doubt his ongoing injury management is playing a role there. The subs were good when they came on, particularly Broja. I, along with just about everyone apart from Ralph want to see KWP and Livramento both starting on the right. It’s not like we have a right winger who is playing too well to drop! It’s arguably our weakest position at the moment and KWP needs to be playing. He’s one of our best players. It seems so obvious to play KWP RB with Livramento in front that it’s frustrating to not see it given a go.
