Right so I didn't realise I still had the honours after a draw but apparently I do... So welcome to TLL's goals galore match thread, last time out a pen from Gabbi earned us a point against a decent Newcastle side and also meant we scored twice at home. Yes you did read that right... WE SCORED TWO ACTUAL FOOTBALL GOALS AT HOME!! So in true football fan fashion and putting all logic aside it's only right to assume my threads attract a lot of goals, so how many this week? I'm going for another 4 goals but all to the home team On a more serious point, I've knocked this up quickly on my phone and will add photos and all the details and **** once I'm at a laptop/pc hopefully later this week As always I'll end with... Up the ****ing Saints
Forster, Cedric, Yoshida, Van Dijk, Hoedt, Bertrand, Romeu, Lemina, Tadic, Austin, Gabbiadini. (3-4-1-2) PLEASE. THANK YOU.
Really could do with a win here, after this, our 9th match we would have played 6 at home and 3 away, with one top 6 team played in that time. Hopefully can build on confidence going forward. Ball to feet and create space.
Forster Cedric yoshi hoedt Bertrand Romeu Lemina Boufal Davis tadic Gabbiadini McCarthy McQueen Stephens jwp Austin Redmond long
I'll be happy if we see Tadic play on the left, Boufal actually play from the start and Redmond coming on as an impact sub. Oh and the 3 points, scoring a couple and keeping a clean sheet. Not too much to ask for I reckon.
Forster Cedric Yoshi VvD Bertrand Romeu Lemina Jwp Boufal tadic Gabbiadini With boufal playing quite high up getting in the box as much as possible. Lots of low crosses. Hoping that will create corners for VvD et al as well as central free kicks due to Boufal.
Gunna go 2-0 win for Saints. Gabbiadini and Lemina. It's a shame that a 2-0 win at home to a team like West Brom seems almost like a fantasy result but we have to make do. Up the ****ing Saints!
Tell you what losing to West Brom is not an option. Nearly every time someone loses to West Brom recently the manager loses his job!!! Definitely a bogey team for managers..........
If the weather forecast is to be believed, the game will be played in a full blown gale and that may affect the result!
2-0 Saints. JRod scoring two very dodgy own goals, saying thanks to SFC for looking after him for 2.5 half years.
I question needing lemina and romeu at home to a deep sitting West Brom. The gap between these 2 and the front 4 is huge every game. I get west brom will counter attack but do we really need 6 defensive players passing the ball around on the half way line all match again. If we persist with this 4231 thing then I would prefer 41131 with Davis ahead of lemina as Davis can link up with the front 4. I don't like the formation at all and think our squad is better suited to 3 at the back but that won't happen.
I am going to the game mainly because I have a party to go to afterwards, so killing two birds with one stone, making the long drive more palatable. Generally looking more forward to the party than the game At least I can use the party to help me forget what I think we be a drab game - Pulis teams are defensive and very well organised and quite boring to watch, we are defensive and quite boring to watch. I can't see us breaking them down so not scoring. In fact the only attempt we will have on target will be the own goal that we score - 0-1
