Davis Richardson Fonte Seaborne Shaw JWP Cork Chaplow Mayuka Rodriguez Puncheon Subs: Boruc, Butterfield, Hooiveld, Davis, Lallana, Guly, Lambert. 2-1 Saints: Wednesday to score quite early on and Rodriguez and Lambert to score in the second half.
I'd be tempted to start the back four who finished the Villa game. Think we could do with a clean sheet (not that it's guaranteed) and time playing together seeing as we've conceded three goals a game so far. Just a thought. Up front though I agree it'd be nice to see Mayuka, JRod etc.
I hope the crowd give Dave Jones a warm welcome back on the night. A nice bloke who did his best for us under very difficult personal circumstances.
We'd have no chance of keeping a clean sheet with that. Wednesday are in the league that we were in last season and they'll beat us if we don't take it seriously. Stephens and Chambers are on England U19 duty and Chung is injured, so none of them will play.
Hooiveld won't be fully fit, and I wasn't sure whether or not to play our first choice CBs-I'll edit.
My guess: 2-1 (Guly, Rodriguez) Davis Stephens, Seabourne, Hooiveld, Shaw Ward-Prowse, Cork, Chaplow Guly, Rodriguez, Lee I also think De Ridder and Fox will feature somewhere in this game
Surprised at the amount of first team players people think will play, I think it will be a complete reserve team plus probably Rodriguez.
Not sure Olly I think he'll want to gain some momentum and keep confidence high. Think the bench players will all get a start.
We can shuffle the deck a bit, but Wednesday are no pushovers and they'll beat us if we go for a complete reserve side. Premier League arrogance already seems to be creeping in.
Adkins played fringe players last year in cups, so no disrespect to Wednesday if he does the same tomorrow. I suspect a few first teamers will be on bench in case he needs a late goal or two.
Bloody hell I hope this weather changes by tomorrow afternoon. It's like a bloody hurricane in London.
