Wonder if Reading will go with 2 up front as usual. They may find themselves outnumbered in midfield if they do.
Simon Peach: 'I am hearing Gaston Ramirez will be involved for #SaintsFC this weekend. Awaiting confirmation from Adkins in press conf.'
We could always move Lallana into number 10 and play someone else on the wing. --------------Gazzaniga Clyne-----Fonte-----Yoshida-----Shaw ------------Cork-----Morgan ----------------Lallana --Mayuka-----Lambert-----Rodriguez Anyone else up for some mental 433 action? I like the team of the last few games, but although it's high on players who can play ball, it's not so high on players who will get behind and stick the ball in the net. Reading's defence aren't up to much and I don't think we'll need a lot of finesse to break them down. Getting in their face ahould do the trick.
apart from 2 games and one of those had a torres offside goal and an ivanovic 95th minute goal, all of readings games this season have been decided by no more than 1 goal. Its not going to be a walk in the park.
I like the looks of that i think our pace there would cause them loads of problems. And make it very exciting for the saints fans.
Now confirmed that he will be back in time for the game: 'Nigel Adkins says Gastón RamÃrez will return to the Club tomorrow having been in Uruguay on compassionate leave since Sunday. #saintsfc' 'Nigel Adkins says he'll assess Gaston Ramirez's fitness tomorrow, when he returns to training after trip to Uruguay #saintsfc' 'Adkins also rubbished internet talk of Ramirez being unhappy at #Saintsfc'
I know what you mean there, Gaston isn't a worse player than Cork, but he is easier for us to replace. Anyway looks like he will be back so it must be an unchanged line up. When you are as good as him you don't need to train
Boruc Clyne Fonte Yoshida Shaw Schneiderlin Cork Puncheon Mayuka Lallana Lambert Bench: Davis, Fox, Hooiveld, Davis, Ramirez, Rodriguez, Guly. 2-1 Saints, Lambert and Lallana.
Apart from the goalie i think that line up would be good on Saturday. Ramirez may well be on the bench after his round trip to Montevideo. Not sure about the scoreline as i think that it will be hard fought and facinating game but Saints have the capability of beating Reading for sure.
If we win only one more game this season, I would want it to be this or the West Ham return fixture. I don't think there are many managers in the Premiership who get more out of the players they've got than McDermott.
That press conference is probably one of the worst ever. All the questions were basically suggesting all our players were going to leave and how how we are not attractive enough to keep them. It was meant to be a conference about Southampton v Reading not to discuss what club Shaw and Lallana are going to play for.
It's that time of the year though. The window beckons and with all the managerial changes the press will be hyping up big time!
Here's another one of them articles for the opposition if your interested, looking at the attacking set plays of Reading: http://sfcplayerstats.wordpress.com/2012/12/05/scout-report-reading-attacking-set-plays/
