I remember, was an evening match? I was very young and left with my dad before the goals. I vowed never to leave early again and I didn't. Until Liverpool at home in cup.
Well they said they wanted a positive thread and it seems in the main they have got one!! Some of the predictions 5.0, 6.0, 4.0 are a little bit toooo enthusiastic for me. This game is going to be tighter than a ducks ass to what a lot expect. They are really desperate for points so cannot for the life of me see them having a go. I just hope that we do not get Blasé. That would be a big, big mistake. I am positive it will be a tight game. Err..............does that count as a positive post?
YAY!!!!!! Match day! Looking forward to this. Managed to get a lift from Bournemouth from my old man who is over from France. Going to try to convince him to go to the Old Farmhouse, before the match as we normally park at the hub and eat/drink there, and he may not like the walk and we have to somehow meet with my brother and niece too. What time are you all going there and is there somewhere to park near there rather than the hub? No7
I park on Empress road, or you can park in a little industrial estate over the level crossing 100 yards from the pub. I'll be there 1:30 ish, traffic allowing and depending on me finding Richie at a train station
As I write, there are buzzards circling overhead and early bees collecting pollen from the late daffodils. But none of them are buzzing as loud as I am! The Chilcompton contingent, consisting of one Saints fan and three resigned Magpies, is about to set off! See you in the Farmhouse, and look out for the not606 logo!
I've only once backed Saints to win 6-0. Unfortunately it was against Sunderland. Even when we got to 6-0 I knew I wasn't going to win. Vin
I'm with you. Positivity needs a small addition of realism otherwise you can end up disappointed by not winning by enough which is nuts in this league. I think we're going to win ... positive, but realistic ... and I hope get entertained ... even better (Mrs S's favourite emoji) I remember a Leicester game at home, they were already relegated and a mate put his money on us winning by 4 nil. Inside 20 mins we were 2-0 down !!! But we drew 2-2 so not all bad. (The game where Jones had to deal with a very high looping ball and punched the bar rather than the ball as it went in )
